I am an avid reader of Harry Potter fan fiction (and crossovers) and have been silently reading on this site for years. I try and stay away from fics that are a basic retelling of the books with very few changes. I love a good Independent Harry story, but if it is original and catches my attention I'll give it a shot. I stay away from slash and some of the more eccentric pairings. I'm looking to get into beta reading at some point, more for grammar, spelling, and continuity. My only stumbling block is the publishing requirement. Maybe I'll give writing a shot at some point :)
