Hello all!

Thanks for taking a look at my page- I know I'm always curious about the authors whose fics I read and enjoy.

What can I tell you? I'm a British woman in her twenties, a classical musician who read English at university and read voraciously as a child. Something about having left that comfortable studenty-world (no groaning, those still-students out there, I know it's tough but there's something comfortable about being educationally institutionalised too, believe me!) has brought out my inner teen again. Having recently finished a course analysing everything from Chaucer to Frank O'Hara (what's not to love?) I'm enjoying reading trashy romance novels and books I LOOOOOVED as a child- namely the Tamora Pierce ones. And as a musician it's very nice to write fanfic which uses some creative muscles but is a lot more instantly gratifiable than long-term practice!

Now here's for the seeming complexities. I LOVE Daine and Numair, probably because I have a thing for older men (I married one and it's great!) which is just a bit naughty, so this indulges me;-)

Secondly, I AM a feminist and I love TP as although I don't know if she declares herself one, her books certainly seem to be. How great to have heroines who rescue themselves! So, as I've said somewhere in one of my fics, although I love D/N and the whole 'looking after you' thing the older man/younger woman pairing encourages, I want MY Daine at least sometimes to be a woman in her own right- whether that be because she's actually more experienced than in the books, or more forward, or who makes more mistakes! Fleshing out the characters and twisting them a bit, there's the fun!
