Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter. Thanks for visiting my profile and I hope you enjoy my stories! So a bit about me: I'm an engineer who just happens to have creative writing as a favourite hobby. Reading a book has been my favourite escape mechanism from work for who knows how long - particularly anything Fantasy related (with the occasional Sci-fi or historical fiction tossed in there too). My favourite series has to be Harry Potter, but I love the writing of many other authors, such as C.S. Lewis, Trudi Canavan, Tracy Harding, Maria Snyder, Jennifer Fallon etc. On the fanfiction side of things… I have literally completely lost count of the number of stories I've read on this site - and I completely blame a good friend for sending me the link to a fic in my final year of school while we were supposed to be studying for an exam for getting me into it. I'm mostly stick to the Harry Potter fandom when it comes to writing, but have read across many, including TV/Movies, e.g. Marvel universe, Numb3rs etc. So Harry Potter. AU realities from “what if” situations or time travel stories are probably my favourite stories – but I also really enjoy fanfiction which fills in the gaps left to us by the original authors. My favourite character is Sirius Black, as can probably be seen from my writing. There is just so much we don't know about him, which makes him fascinating to both read about and write. Hermione is a close second though! I'm a Ravenclaw on Pottermore though (I wasn't too surprised at that one either...). In terms of harry potter ships, I'm a huge fan of canon, especially for the main characters - yes that means Harry/Ginny, Hermione/Ron etc. I will read something out of canon if it is well written and a good story otherwise. Stories bashing characters... hmm - I'm a bit on the fence about these to tell the truth. Basically - anything well written and still somewhat believable I will happily read. Dumbledore bashing stories I use to really avoid - but after finding a couple of good ones, well they can be really good - it does make it really confusing when jumping between stories though (wait, is he good or manipulative or plain bad in this one???). Weasley bashing - well you have to be pretty good to pull that off and for me to like it! Some of my main annoyances include stories with endless grammar/spelling errors, or when someone so clearly has not done some basic research on the character/location/event they are writing about. In other words - if you ever notice anything off/bad grammar etc in my work please let me know! I'm one of those people who likes to say yes to stuff, which often means I'm left with little time to myself - that unfortunately leads to few chances to write, and it only seems to get worse as I get older! I have a few multi-chapter stories I've started (one of which is posted, but I haven't updated in years!). I'm still writing intermittently, but am now trying to finish at least a draft of my stories before I start posting so I can aim for more regular updates. So it might be a while, but A Trial for Sirius Black will be finished one day! Reviews would be great - especially constructive criticism - as I’m still somewhat new to posting my work for anyone to read and it would be really encouraging to know what people actually think. I’ll never ask for a number of reviews to update but if you have the time I can not even begin to explain how much reviews mean to me - and they certainly encourage me to get back to my computer and start writing again! My Stories: A Second Chance: A one shot filling in a missing moment in the Prisoner of Azkaban. What exactly happened after Sirius was captured at the end of the book, and how did he manage to convince Dumbledore of his innocence? AN: This was my first story on here - there are some parts where I cringe a little at the writing when re-reading it now, but it got me started, and the idea always interested me. A Trial for Sirius Black: What if Karkaroff had know Pettigrew was the spy and released the name to the ministry. This is the story of Sirius' resultant trial 6 months after he was arrested. Varies between Sirius' and Remus' point of view. This idea just randomly came to me 2 summers ago and I have been fiddling with it ever since. I've read so many trial fics, and it just annoyed me at how easily Sirius got off - honestly, if it'd been like that he might have even got off in canon! Also, I'm an engineer not a lawyer, so this is just how I imagine the wizarding court working and I apologise for any inaccuracies. It is my first try at posting a multi-chapter story so I'll try and keep updates coming though it may take me a while with uni. No plans currently to keep this going into a raising Harry fic. |
