Author has written 2 stories for Harry Potter. Hi, I've been to writing conferences where they talk about plotters and pantsers. Plotters, obviously plot out a whole story before doing any writing. Pantsers, sit down and write "by the seat of their pants. Me, I'm a plotter. The problem. Once I have a story all plotted out, instead of writing it, I start plotting something new. I mean, why go through the work of writing when you already know how it ends. Though I do love coming up with a new story, the fact is, I want to be published. But to be published, you have to actually write a book. I'm a firm believer in 'if what you are doing doesn't work, do something different.' Merlin's Gift is my something different. While I have a pretty good idea of where the story is going, I'm not plotting it out. I'm writing it chapter by chapter and posting them as I write them. So, I would love to hear whatever criticism, encouragement, or advice you might have for me in my quest to finish a damn book. |
