![]() Author has written 2 stories for Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. A little intimidated by this blank page here! You’d think a writer could handle writing a profile without prompts LOL But the truth is I found Buffy on Netflix and watched all 7 seasons in a mega-marathon over a couple of weeks. I was heartbroken by how fans of the Buffy/Spike relationship were given no catharsis or closure by the end of “Chosen.” Bad enough we weren’t given even a little hug on the eve of the Apocalypse before the camera cut away, but when Spike didn’t accept Buffy’s declaration of love at the end, aaargh!!! (I realize the Whedonverse was hoping to create a Spike spinoff and wanted to keep their options open, but . . . dang.) So my intention was to fix that. I wrote Apocalypse Eve to be as perfectly canonical as I could make it, even at its most nuanced levels. And then I wanted to share it. But, you know, 9 years after the show’s finale, it’s not so easy to run into fans in the local coffee shop or anything. I was aware of fan fiction, but had never read any. Fortunately, I have a writerly friend (shout out to KaziWren) who nudged me in the right direction. Imagine my surprise when I opened an account, only to discover you have to wait two days before you can publish. The thought occurred to me that apparently writing FF is a lot like buying a gun. Turns out that’s not so far off the truth. I was sure I just had the one story in me and then I’d be done – famous last words lol I’m completely enchanted finding so many talented writers here, and can’t stop myself working on more stuff – totally hooked! So check back because I love my new hobby :o) |
