I am a twenty nine year old historian from Germany and currently working on my masters thesis. I got my BA in European and Northamerican History with a minor in Religious Studies. My surname originates in ancient german and roughly translates proud wolf, hence my nome de plume. I even have a tattoo of a tribal-style wolf on my right shoulder blade.

Unfortunately I have not written any fanfiction since I was in high school, even through I do own three notebooks full of plotbunnies. But I love to read fanfictions in my rare freetime, which are my guilty pleasure.

At the moment I am reading Neil Gaiman/Terry Pratchett's Good Omens.

My general Fanfiction Pet Peeves

Slash can be interesting once in a while, but for gods sake, don't make every single couple gay (or worse: make all the good guys gay and the bad ones straight). There is something called diversity. And just because its apparently 'in' does not mean you have to do it.
On that Note: Male Pregnancies; just no, no, no, no, no, no, you can not do this to me, no. It's the way live is, you can't have everything. I have nothing against gay couples, let them marry, let them adopt, but don't come to me with the idea of male pregnancies. I stop reading every story, however good the plot is, if this is in it.

OCs can help develop your plotline and, when good written, can be greatly loved, but please don't overdue it. Its called 'fanfiction' for a reason, so you should use the original Characters, too.

MarySue/GaryStu are for every reader a nuisance. Nobody is perfect, so allow your characters, Canon and OC, a few flaws and for god's sake don't make them all powerful, all knowing and omnipresent.

Senseless Dialogue and Banter are just that: senseless. It does not continue the plot and shows instead that the author has no idea how he/she will proceed with their fanfiction and writes it only so the story will not be labeled as on hold. That's btw. a good method to loose interested readers very fast. If you have no idea what to write anymore, then just say so and label your writing as plotbunny without an ending. Later, if you have new ideas, you can still continue your plot.
