![]() Author has written 7 stories for Rocky Horror, Game of Thrones, and Harry Potter. Almost two years ago, I wrote my very first fanfic—a little one-shot of Rocky Horror femslash smut. I had fun with it and I figured that was it for my “writing career.” I never planned to write anything else. But then season 7 of Game of Thrones lit my brain on fire (dragon pun very much intended) and here we are—two published one-shots, a few more kicking around my head and a real, grown-up multi-chapter story in progress! What else am I going to do with my time while we wait for GRRM to finish the next book…or for HBO to crank out the next season…or for Jon to realize Ghost is missing? To say nothing of the Harry Potter bit of fun which has been on my mind for almost a decade, which I've finally gotten around to writing down. I discovered Rocky Horror at 18 and have been in love with it ever since—it’s such joyous, sexy fun. As a sheltered, awkward kid in the Bible Belt, it introduced me to a bigger, brighter, more beautiful world; and my all-consuming crush on Patricia Quinn helped me embrace my all-consuming gayness. A Song of Ice and Fire/Game of Thrones sucked me in about six years ago. It’s like fantasy crack—I can’t stop reading/watching even when it makes me cry and scream. So—more Game of Thrones stuff coming. Hopefully. I’ll ride that dragon as long as I can; after that, who knows? And Harry Potter--it's quite simply a masterpiece. THANK YOU to everyone who has ever read one of my stories!!! I have no idea what I’m doing, but I’m so grateful for the kind feedback. And I’m happy to be contributing something to this community. I’ve read some gorgeous stories here, had a few great conversations and made a couple of cherished friends. (You know who you are. ;)) A few other favorite sources of inspiration: Books: Lord of the Rings trilogy, To Kill A Mockingbird, Come Closer, some classic Stephen King and Anne Rice TV: American Horror Story, The Crown, Orange Is the New Black, Downton Abbey, Upstairs, Downstairs, Mad Men, True Blood, Absolutely Fabulous, Black Adder, Walking Dead, I, Claudius Movies: Clue, Donnie Darko, Memento…never mind, there are far too many—can’t even get into it Musicals: West Side Story, Gypsy, A Chorus Line, Cabaret, Cats, Les Miserables, Chicago, Phantom of the Opera, Rent, Hamilton, anything by Sondheim Music: Paul Oakenfold, Lindsey Stirling, Cut Copy, Royksopp, Daft Punk, Empire of the Sun, Duran Duran, Joy Division/New Order, Erasure, Pet Shop Boys, The Cure, Depeche Mode, The B-52’s, Queen, Siouxsie (on her own or with the Banshees), David Bowie, Social Distortion, Violent Femmes, Nine Inch Nails, Blutengel, Arcade Fire, The Killers, Sting, Theophilus London, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, The White Stripes, Poe, Fiona Apple, Florence The Machine, Frou Frou/Imogen Heap, Sarah Brightman, Mozart, John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Flogging Molly, Clannad Other random obsessions: Medieval and Tudor history, politics, Halloween, social justice, true crime, and photography—especially capturing images of graffiti, doors, art, and repeating patterns in nature and architecture. Also, trying to make my peace with the Oxford commas that looks so wrong in that last sentence. |
