![]() Author has written 5 stories for Harry Potter, Yu-Gi-Oh, and Beyblade. Beware: fangirl I am a fan of Yu-gi-oh (and its Abridged), Rozen Maiden, Shakugan no Shana, Harry Potter, The Chronicles of Amber (heads up if you know what they are!), Godchild, Black Butler, Sailor Moon, and the works of Dumas. My native language is Russian. Woohoo! Ships: Harry Potter Neville/Draco Draco/Harry (not as much anymore, but it's got a lot of brilliant fanfics) Harry/Luna Yu-gi-oh puzzleshipping, tendershipping, bronzeshipping and puppyshipping As to why I ship Neville/Draco: Yes this pairing seems very much crack and it doesn't have a lot of followers, but I think it makes a ton (and a half) of sense. Especially to my deranged fangirl mind. For those of you familiar with Yu-gi-oh, the reason I ship them is because of the yami-hikari concept. Now I could go into how yami and hikari aren't the same people and blah blah blah, but I won't, except to say: read the manga. They're pretty much canon...well puppyshipping and bronzeshipping isn't, but you know what I mean. For those going "yama-whatsits??", I can explain. One of the recurring themes in the anime is that of yami and hikari, literally translated: dark and light, respectively. Generally, yami and hikari complete each other in terms of personality. Example: Atemu is bold, aggressive, vengeful, and a bit selfish. He's a yami. Yugi, on the other hand, is kind, compassionate, loyal, and very selfless. He's a hikari. They are one of the biggest (if not The biggest) pairings in Yu-gi-oh. My friend and I decided to take this concept, and apply it to Harry Potter. Whatever for? Because we felt like it. Deal. Anyway, even though both of us up until that point strongly shipped Draco/Harry, we realized that by this concept, they would be incompatible. They're both just too stubborn and aggressive. They'd both want their way. That tends to ruin a relationship. So we dubbed them 'yami's. Luna, I think, would be the ideal hikari for Harry because she not only balances him out in the aggression area, but she's also more relaxed and easygoing, unlike Harry, who tends to stress out about things a lot. She'd be perfect for getting him wound down from whatever angst-fest he happened to be in. Neville and Draco are almost too perfect for each other. Neville's the shy, observant, caring type, who can also be brave when the situation calls for it. Draco's a bit of a prat, confident, and more self-centered, but when faced with danger, he's likely to do the cowardly(smart) thing. They remind me a lot of Ryou and Bakura, actually. Well, a little. Anyway, that's my reasoning, and if you don't like it, move on. |
