Author has written 7 stories for Pitch Black / Riddick, Firefly, Warhammer, Dexter, and Mass Effect. I can't guarantee that I'll finish most of the fics I'll start. I know it's a lousy profile introductory description, but you have been warned. I have decided to move most of my works to AO3. The reasons are two-fold: 1. The recent FFnet bug that won't let certain users post new stories, that has not been fixed for months. Therefore, any new stories I come up with, will probably exist there exclusively. 2. The draconic content policy of this site has bothered many writers and readers alike since it's been implemented. This has caused the division of fan fiction works into many sites, which, in my opinion, AO3 is trying to mend and put together again. Kudos for that. And I do have to mention I like the fact that I can put there more than 4 characters and infinity tags on a work that either I wrote, or I liked. That's a humongous improvement in my opinion. Out of respect for my current readers that have given me input here, I will continue to update the stories I have started here until their completion or abandonment, as may be the case. However, since I'm not physically able to create more stories due to the bug... well, they're the only ones that I'll be able to update here. The only thing I am certain is that I know the ending of "Queen and King", which is probably why I even decided to publish it. If I will not be able or willing to continue it for some time, you can read the first interlude and see where it's supposed to go. I hope it doesn't go that way, though, so keep reading and reviewing, and you have my thanks. Update: I'm putting Queen and King on hold. The interlude should tell you what's going to happen, although it doesn't convey the sheer awesomeness I had in mind, but it'll have to do. As loathe as I was to read this from another author, I'll have to say that I've lost interest in the fandoms (which is strange, since I recently saw Riddick - the third movie, and enjoyed it). This announcement is subject to change or retraction, but frankly, I don't get the feedback or the interest in the fandoms - except for Riddick the character I guess - to motivate me.
Speaking of unknown endings, that includes my current project End of the Golden Age. If you start reading it, think of it as a massive sandbox fic/video game. It's not important the where it's going, but the how and why. I've already given glimpses on where it's heading, but I hope you're curious and interested in what happens in the meanwhile. Or, to put it shortly, what stories I continue and not waxes and wanes in the way of and possibly according to the seas of the Warp. The Thousand Sons had an interesting view about this, I suggest you read their POV novel Thousand Sons. (Looks like I'm not the only one title-y challenged from time to time.) I don't usually write for the reviews, but they help. My criteria on even reading fanfics on this site is how many reviews they have (not many seem to want to follow something, therefore that doesn't tell me much, and favorites... the same, some favorite a lot of stories, some favorite very few). So I understand how much reviews mean to other authors, including me, on this site, if only that to me it gives me fics I'm willing to read, because so many decided they were worth a comment at the end of a chapter. I've discovered I'm not too good or original with story titles, but I can't let them go with "Unnamed", better a cliche title than a lack of it altogether. I can guarantee you what's inside is better than the title. At least I'm good at descriptions, from my POV. I like crossovers especially the type that put characters from a franchise in an alien environment and takes their reactions in stride. I'm planning a few crossovers with Warhammer 40k, my opinion on this franchise is that Warhammer elements can always steamroll another Universe, but it takes finesse to walk into the wh40k verse and walk away alive. I'm all for both types of stories though, though I'll probably write the latter types. If you're interested in my creation process... lately I have come to some realizations. One of them is that I can't write all I think about, all the time. It is the practical difference between thinking about something all the time and actually taking the time to explain everything, every nook and cranny. So listen up: from now on, my main priority has become the timeline moves on. That will mean I will be actively (though as I have observed, often unsuccessfully) avoiding details where (you feel that, perhaps justly so) there should be more. Warhammer epics are supposed to be that, mostly epics with faceless, nameless goons playing Gods in their little worlds while the Gods laugh at their hubris. In general, I have been of the opinion that quality quantity. However, in this instance, I'll have to disagree. I have too much to tell and not nearly enough as much physical time to do so in. Some may wonder "where's the rush? It's not like you won't live enough to tell them all". Maybe, maybe not, but I won't live forever and I may even lose interest in this domain or writing altogether. So before I do, I wish to shower the internet with what I have gleamed. Huh, I just read about NaNoWriMo and it seems others have come to the same conclusion. So the above section in short: search NaNoWriMo. Important note (relatively so): Anyone reading my stories is welcomed to adapt the ideas I used in their own if they find them interesting. I won't make a fuss. AUs, alternate continuations, prologues, epilogues, use of original characters from my stories and so on may be made without my consent, from this account or any other. I would like to get credit, if only through a link to my profile here. I also have no wish to stop you from archiving my stories on other sites, as long as you give credit. |
