Author has written 1 story for Naruto. Subject 32's profile Gender: Male Age: 21 Favorite Music: Classic rock, some progressive rock, some heavy metal, some "Nirvana-era" rock. Also jazz, blues, and some classical. I know that sounds like basically saying "everything", but the point is, I'm still kind of picky about what music I like and don't like. :P Favorite Anime shows: Neon Genesis Evangelion (my all-time favorite), FLCL, Naruto, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lupin III, Case Closed/Detective Conan, Trigun, Inuyasha (kind of), Big O, S-cry-ed, Yu Yu Hakusho (a little), and NOT Cowboy Bebop or Bleach. Favorite characters from some of those (these are not pairings): Gendo, Shinji; Ninamori; Yuki; Jigen; Wolfwood, Meryl; Scheris Good shows that used to be on the air: All in the Family (my favorite show for the same reason the Boondocks is great), Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, Kenan & Kel Naruto stuff: Some pairings I like are the ones that I thought the fans made up as wishful thinking, but then I later saw little hints of them in the series. Like these: NaruSasu, ShikaTem, InoChouji, AsumaKurenai, LeeTen. More pairings that are cool: SASUHINA, my all-time favorite; GaaSaku, I thought it was weird but it's not so bad; KibaHina, I think there's a good chance of this one happening; KankuTen, I'm just starting to get into it; GaaNaru, like it or not I think this "makes sense", and I see it as the most likely yaoi pairing. Couples I don't approve of: SHIKAINO, LeeSaku, NaruSaku, NejiTen, GaaLee, and (anyone in Konoha)x(anyone in Akatsuki) Couples I haven't mentioned are not bad, but not great either. Either they're boring, like NaruHina, or I kind of like them but also kind of dislike them, like SasuSaku, or they're just unexpected but not necessarily bad, like NejiIno. Alright, let's go through it by girl now, figuring out who might end up with who. We know the most about Sakura and Hinata, so pairings usually come easier for these two. Temari--Shikamaru definitely first. Kiba, Naruto, or Sasuke very, very small chance. Tenten--Lee definitely first. Kankurou is a small chance. Ino--Chouji first. Naruto or Kiba are good chances. Gaara is a small chance. Neji is a very small chance. Sakura--Sasuke first, actually. Gaara is a good chance. Shikamaru or Neji are smaller chances. Kiba is a slight chance. Hinata--Neji is probably first. Sasuke or Kiba are also high chances. I think that Gaara, Naruto, and to some extent Sasuke are the characters most likely to be gay, and not because they are main characters. It's because they grew up separate from society and its standards and opinions, especially in Gaara's case. yaoi--Not that I think it will happen, but GaaNaru is a decent chance, NaruSasu is a not-bad chance, and that's probably all. Favorite characters: Rock Lee, Shino, Neji, Shikamaru, Tenten, Chouji Favorite older characters: Guy, Anko, Sarutobi Favorite villains: Orochimaru, Kimimaro, Zabuza, Tobi, Kakuzu Favorite minor characters: Inari, Gatou, Hayate, Yuugao, Kuromaru, Aoba Some cool fights that would be awesome to see in the series: Sasuke vs. Neji--a psychology-heavy taijutsu battle, thanks to their cool eyes Naruto vs. Lee--a taijutsu battle Shino vs. Gaara--a ninjutsu battle (not as one-sided as you'd think, because of their similar fighting-styles) Kankurou vs. Tenten--a weapons technique battle Sasori vs. Kakuzu--an awesome supervillain battle I love the motifs that run in the Naruto storyline. For example: The Sasuke vs. Itachi saga. I don't remember where, but at some point in the series, Orochimaru says that he left the Akatsuki partly because Itachi was stronger than him, and he couldn't stand this--which is why he goes after Sasuke, for his Sharingan, figuring that the only way to beat a Sharingan is with a better Sharingan. So, here we have Orochimaru admitting that Itachi is stronger than him! And Orochimaru himself is one of the Sannin, who are supposed to be beyond all other ninjas' skill. This all leads to my conclusion that Itachi is quite possibly the strongest ninja in the world. (Note that I wrote this before I read the Akatsuki chapters of the story.) Notice, however, that just before he and Kisame invade Konoha, Itachi says, "Every strong opponent has a weakness." He knows that that applies to him too. Why did Itachi do it? He killed everyone in his clan, but left Sasuke alive specifically, probably not by chance. I think it was because Itachi himself was not sure about his personal philosophy that hate brings power, and needed something to prove it to himself. I still can't work out the details yet, and it would still mean that Itachi is screwed up in the head a little, but I think it may be along the lines of Neji's dilemma at the beginning of the series: Like Neji, he grows up believing in a certain philosophy that is proven true to him again and again, but he wishes it were not true...I'm going to have to think a little longer to figure out what exactly that is for Itachi. It might just be an extreme case of the same thing Neji went through...though I doubt that's it. (Wow, the current manga chapters are putting this topic in a whole new light...Aww, I liked my theories.) The Sasuke-Naruto friendship theme. It seems like this is really the moral of the whole story. It's really moving to see them become best friends, and I really believe that Sasuke leaves because he cares about his teammates, and he thinks this is best for all of them. If you watch Neon Genesis Evangelion, I see it as very similar to what Gendo did to Shinji. (SPOILER: Funny, because in recent manga events, it seems Itachi is more a "Gendo figure" than Sasuke!) The "History repeats itself..." theme. Comparing Team 7 to the Sannin is fun, and I could definitely see things ending up like that. Despite what I just said above, I wouldn't be surprised if Sasuke turns out just like Orochimaru did. Also, the rivalry between Kakashi and Guy is how I picture the Sasuke vs. Naruto rivalry turning out in the best-case scenario. Which brings me to the next point... The Sasuke-Kakashi comparison. Kakashi says that Sasuke reminds him of when he was younger, but Sasuke would have to be much more laid back to be like Kakashi. The way I see it, Kakashi has all of Sasuke's good attributes, and none of his bad ones. Sasuke should look to Kakashi as a role model, to try to be more like him, and if he did this I think Sasuke would be a lot cooler. Things I noticed (random): Kakashi is kind of like Fonzie a.k.a. The Fonz from an old-school show called Happy Days. Leather jacket, awesome hair, ladies' man, fixing other people's problems...so completely Kakashi. Orochimaru is the perfect villain--not because he's scary or powerful, even though he is, but more than anything he's really creepy. He's also more determined to obtain his goals than any other villain, and is his "own man", not held down to an organization like the Akatsuki. He is probably hated by everyone in the Naruto-world. Sasori and Orochimaru used to be partners in Akatsuki! That must have been a powerhouse duo. According to the story, they hated each other, which I think all comes together to set a great background for a fic about what their time together in Akatsuki must have been like. In fact, thinking about Orochimaru's time with Akatsuki is a lot of fun in general. I really, really like AU's and crossovers. It's not very common to come across a good one, though. Hi, Well, not much to see here. I'm just a third year college student in the U.S., studying chemistry and cool stuff like that... I'm really not much of the creative type, so I really don't think you'll be seeing any stories from me. I am, however, completely hooked on reading fanfiction (hey, that's why I'm here). The only two sections that I really go to are Naruto and sometimes Evangelion. I consider myself good with spelling and grammar, and I love to correct people (hah! I always try to be polite, of course), so proofreading is something that is right up my alley...so if you need a proofreader, you can contact me. I'm not really in the loop when it comes to anime. I mean, I only know the pretty well known shows, the ones that are always on TV. Besides all that, I like to play Perfect Dark on my Nintendo 64 system that I still have from the days of video-game yore. I'm also really big on music, listening to it, playing it, and writing it when I get "inspired" (which happens very rarely these days...oh well). I like bowling and shooting pool (billiards), and playing poker and strategy/war games. If I ever do write a fanfic, it will probably be some historical or "next-generation" story, because I love that stuff. Big history fan/dork, here! |
