![]() Author has written 5 stories for Naruto. Revisions, updates, ambitions, empty promises: all this and more when you read this update! Greetings to you good reader, I am Islagatt among other things I am called Spiral Prophet and the Philosoraptor. I stopped writing anything stable several years ago because things in my life changed and I found different meanings than the ones I had at the time. But you're not here for me to rant and rave about my philosophical breakthroughs (which are nothing new at all). You're probably here because you've read something I've written, given the stats, that's probably either A Demon's Dream or At Any Cost. More likely the latter than the former. Fine- I plan to begin continuing At Any Cost soon, and if I ever get around to it I want to begin rewriting it to get rid of the dead-end portions and finish the sections that got pre-emptively terminated. I don't plan to continue A Demon's Dream, History Repeats, or Dreams of the Disturbed, I will be labeling them as officially discontinued here. I am going to completely take down I Can Do Better in July 2011. The reasons are simple, for any number of reasons I no longer remember where those stories are going and no longer have a muse to continue writing them. At Any Cost has enough interest in it and I remember its direction well enough that I think it can continue. Also I would like to extend an apology to my readers for the... abrasive would be too polite a word, attitude I had at the beginning of my writing. But onto brighter things- these are the places I want to write for now. Warhammer 40,000 for its richly detailed and atmospheric source material. The seemingly canon-welded Top Cow universe, at least the one involving the Darkness, the Angelus and the Witchblade for the profound potential of those forces and the characters who wield them. Rosario and Vampire, even if I don't really care for Moka (odd because I normally like Nana Mizuki), I still like the idea of writing in a world where segregation is the norm (this is not a declaration of racism, just to be clear I have no race-motivated bias). And the new to me, but dear to me, setting Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha; why? because it Befriends cynical people and situations with mega-particle cannons. Plural. Also two character/settings of my own devising. The Warmage- Alexi Dzhamchinov (originally a character from third edition D&D) now a universe-hopping warrior-scholar with a bit of a drinking not-problem. And the Disciples of Sitha, an Overlord/Black and White fusion following an odd discussion with a friend, a slowly-spreading religious empire with a faith-hungry god who turned his own home planet into an afterlife to fuel his chosen representatives. It's not likely that these two will be written anytime soon. And that brings me to my last point- I need a beta/sounding board. Really quite badly, my ideas don't do well in a vacuum and I strongly feel that the creative process is aided by the presence of additional minds and perspectives. If anyone's interested please send me a message. |
