Author has written 4 stories for Zootopia, and Miss Congeniality. WhiskersDuo An aspiring doctor who likes to write Zootopia crossovers and stories that feature social commentary. Some of my stories can also be read at DeviantArt: Random Q and A (As of July 15, 2017) Q: Who is Officer Sap Ian? A: He is a character I created to allow me to express some of my opinions. This provides me with more freedom than writing from the perspective of the movie’s characters. The movie’s characters already have defined characteristics, attributes, etc. as set by the creators. I want to stay true to the Zootopia atmosphere, which means if I write things about Judy, Nick, etc. they should act and say what the creators would reasonably allow. For example, swearing is not allowed in a Disney movie, which means I do not use curse words in my Zootopia stories. Q: Who is Officer Sap Ian in your stories? He is a ZPD Officer that works at Precinct 8, an underfunded and dilapidated precinct. He is compassionate, diplomatic and just wants citizens to get along peacefully. Q: Interesting. What species is Officer Ian? A: I don't explicitly say what species Officer Ian is, but I do provide subtle hints. Officer Ian represents what I want people to be, compassionate, understanding, honest, modest, etc. Therefore, it doesn't really matter what species he is. Similarly, a person's culture, ethnicity, etc. does not determine if the person is good or bad. Q: Does Officer Ian have a girlfriend? A: He's single and not interested in relationships. He personally doesn't understand relationships so he decides not to play (Hat's off if you get the Elementary reference). He is also clueless when other animals show affection to him. Q: So, umm, what "team" are you on? A: Er... I don't understand what you mean. Q: I mean, do you "ship" Nick and Judy? A: Oh, you mean that. I am personally indifferent (or at least I think I am). I am happy if they are together as a couple or just as friends. That being said, I draw the line when it comes to questionable mature content. I have an issue with that. Q: Why do you have an issue with mature content? A: As I mentioned before, Zootopia is a family movie and I want to keep it that way. Furthermore, I am not sure if the original producers of Zootopia would be happy that people are using their characters in mature content. I would think that as long as the characters are being used "in good taste", they would be fine with it. That's just my two cents. Q: Do you write other stuff besides Zootopia? A: Not yet. I like writing about Zootopia because there is a lot of things to talk about. I might delve into other fan-fictions in the future, but not now. Q: Some of the names in your stories, they seem familiar. A: This is the part where I say "Names, characters, businesses, places, events and incidents are either the products of the author’s imagination or used in a fictitious manner. Any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, or actual events is purely coincidental." wink* wink* nudge* nudge* |
