![]() Author has written 2 stories for Smallville. Hello, everyone! I'm Dark Onyx and this is my profile! Isn't it hot, and stupid, and poppin' and funky fresh? Profile Update as of January 30, 2011: It's been quite a while, huh? I want to apologize for not keeping all of you updated on my fan-fiction progress. To be honest with all of you, it completely slipped my mind. I sincerely apologize if I kept any of you waiting. Personal Information Name: Dark Onyx Age: 16 (as of April 3, 2011) Eye Color: Dark brown Hair Color: Black Gender: Male Race: African-American Ambitions/Dreams: It is my ambition to become an actor/director. I hope to set the bar for all future superhero movies to reach and/or surpass. If you want to know more about me, feel free to send me a PM; I'll be more than happy to answer any questions you may have! Fandoms Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters: A favorite of mine. Yu-Gi-Oh! is the story of high school student Yugi Mutou's quest to uncover the lost memories of his ancient Egyptian alter ego, Pharaoh Atem. Along the way, Yugi and his partner are forced to overcome challenges presented by those who wish to bring harm to both them and others, notable examples being Pegasus J. Crawford, Thief King Bakura, and the Atlantian menace, Dartz. I simply cannot get enough of this anime; the show's themes of friendship and camaraderie, as well as the card game that made the series so popular, instantly drew me in, and I've been a fan ever since. Would you believe that I discovered this series by accident? Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters GX: The sequel to the original series. Yu-Gi-Oh! GX tells of Judai (Jaden) Yuki's adventures at the prestigious Duelist Academy. While this series isn't quite as good as the original, it is nevertheless full of exactly what made the original series so popular. I was drawn to GX because of the massive character development and the realistic element of drama that became a persistent theme throughout the series' entirety. GX had a way of making me truly care for each and every character, Judai in particular. I will always be grateful to the creators of this series for giving me and all the other fans the chance to get lost in this universe; it was a wild ride. Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's: My personal favorite of the franchise. Unlike the previous two series, I came across 5D's by means of watching the original unedited episodes on YouTube, accompanied by subtitles. Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's in its original form is nothing short of incredible; the series never fails to amaze me in terms of plotlines and character development, and the introduction of Synchro Monsters and Riding Duels only serve to further increase my love for the series. 5D's is a must-see for all fans of Yu-Gi-Oh, no matter which generation you prefer; I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed. Smallville: Smallville tells the story of young Clark Kent's journey to becoming Superman, the greatest hero this world has ever seen. Now in its tenth and final season, Smallville continues to put its own spin on the Superman mythos by introducing new villains (such as the evil alien overlord Darkseid) and taking the romance between Clark Kent and Lois Lane to all-new heights (for a show about pre-Superman, that is). Although the show has its flaws, it almost never fails to entertain me. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who would like to see a different take on the Man of Steel. Would you believe me if I told you that I discovered this series by accident as well? InuYasha: An old favorite, and the very first anime I'd ever been seriously attached to. InuYasha is, in its own words, a "Feudal Fairy Tale" set in the warring states era of Japan. The main characters are Inuyasha, the titular character, and a young woman named Kagome Higurashi, the reincarnation of Inuyasha's first love, the priestess Kikyo. The entire series' plot revolves around Inuyasha and his friends' search for the Shikon Jewel (also known as the "Sacred Jewel" or "Jewel of the Four Souls") and their mission to hunt down and kill the demon Naraku. Although my enthusiasm for the show has dwindled a bit over the years, I will always indebted to this series for bringing me into the world of anime. Harry Potter: The very series that got me into reading books. As soon as I cracked open the first pages of Sorcerer's Stone (or Philosopher's Stone as it's known in the UK), I was hooked on the series - and reading. I grew up with the Harry Potter series, growing and changing just as Harry did. Granted, my coming-of-age years weren't plagued by evil wizards threatening to take over the world, but I think you know what I mean. The Harry Potter books are and always will be my favorite sources of literature, for I was able to learn a little bit about myself from learning a little bit about Harry. The Vampire Diaries: My favorite show. At first, I wasn't willing to give this show a chance. When the previews advertising this show first aired, it gave off the impression that it was nothing more than a carbon-copy of Twilight, a franchise that, to be frank, I hate with all my being. However, after seeing countless promos for the first few episodes, I finally caved one night and decided to give the show a chance. To make a long story short: I never looked back. The Vampire Diaries is an amazing show. Action, romance, drama, suspense, kickass vampires and witches (and now werewolves), this show has it all. This series is one of the better-written shows on television nowadays. I sincerely recommend that you check it out. Supernatural: This show chronicles the adventures of Sam and Dean Winchester, two brothers who hunt the supernatural for a living. Like the Vampire Diaries, I initially had no interest in this show. However, after watching the third season finale, I became intrigued. This show is so well-written that continuity is virtually a non-issue. The leading actors are all simply phenomenal, and the special effects are certainly nothing to sneeze at. The characters are all well-developed and likable, and even the bad guys have you rooting for them at times. Stop reading this profile and go watch an episode. Now. I promise you won't be disappointed! iCarly: The adventures of web-show host Carly Shay and her two best friends, Sam Puckett and Freddie Benson. I was with this show from the start. This is one of the more funnier shows on Nickelodeon. The characters are all pretty funny in my opinion, and the plots (wonderfully random though they are) manage to keep you interested for the whole thirty minutes. I can never get enough of iCarly; I love it with all my heart. And just in case you were interested, I much prefer Seddie (Sam and Freddie) over Creddie (Carly and Freddie). Victorious: This series was made by the same man who created iCarly. Victorious is a show that follows the exploits of Tori Vega, a high school junior who attends a performing arts school. Although this show isn't quite as funny as iCarly, it still has a lot of heart. And many, many more. Upcoming Stories A Rival Appears Category: Yu-Gi-Oh and Harry Potter Crossovers Summary: From the depths of darkness shall champions rise to face each other in honorable combat. Good will battle evil, evil shall battle good, and even those on the same side will be forced to fight. Who among these many men and women will be crowned the greatest Duelist, when the competition is so brutal? There is only one way to find out...Duel! Rating: T Genre: Action/Adventure Chapters: Unspecified Inspiration: Master of the Library's "We Are Legend." Story Status Update: (April 1, 2010) Things are coming along quite a bit better than I expected. I already know where I want to go with the first chapter, but the actual problem - if it can even be called that - is getting there. But I think I'm coming along alright; I just recently started re-editing the parts of the chapter that I've already written. This was necessary, as I felt that the previous location where the duel would take place was a bit too...dry and under-dramatic, if you know what I mean. The new location is, in my opinion, a much better fit. What I'm really having a problem with is choosing the deck for one of the characters. I sort of know what it is I'm looking for, but I can't really decide on a deck. Ah well; I think I'll pull through. Suggestions, however, are welcome. Story Status Update: (April 4, 2010) Thanks to the help offered to me by GamerBlake90, I have now been able to decide upon a deck strategy to give to one of the main characters to duel in the first chapter of my story. I have also rewritten the first chapter over, and I must say, I think that I've got it down exactly the way I want it this time. Things are coming together faster than even I had anticipated, and I can't possibly tell you how thrilled I am at this progress. Expect the first chapter to be up soon. I can guarantee that you'll be blown away! Dark Onyx, signing out! Story Status Update: (January 30, 2011) This story is on hiatus. Due to a more urgent project (which I will not disclose just yet), this story has been put on the back-burner. I apologize to any of those who were looking forward to reading this. |
