![]() Author has written 8 stories for CSI. Hey I'm a German CSI-Addict and my favorite character on the show is Nick Stokes :-) I read FanFiction for some time now and since I have my own profile here I'd like to review CSI-stories which include Nick as a main character :-D Reading and reviewing stories is full of fun and I found some very talented writers in here :-) Check out stories from nicksfriend, csi101, But a Chance, SuzSeb, Samsara Dallire, SmokeyTV, stokesgirl, JacquiT and the other author's in my favourite-list :-D They are my absolute favorite active writers :-) As you propably recognized my English isn't the best, so I say sorry for my stupid grammar mistakes :-) My language problem is also the cause for not adding stories by myself... but with the help of friends I started writing and boom even started publishing them. I'm fom Germany and attend university there. My study is normally really boring... thank god for the great FanFic authors and their story-updates, they always make my day :-D FF.net is a great place to be, a Place where very creative people unleash their imagination with writing amaizing stories. That's why I love it so much. Here's the place for dreams and the chance to get a better insight in a person's character. And in a show like CSI we never get enough of that... Here is something about my story A Day Mid-May :-) Why wrote I what I wrote?? Good question and no real answer for that... After reading the song lyrics for the third Nick Fic Song Challenge The Change Written by Tony Arata and Wayne Tester for the first time I had absolutely no clue what to write. That's not uncommon for me. I just always need time to get something done :-) But one morning I fell out of bed and it hit me LOL! I acted out a dream and woke up because of that... I dreamt about an orange cat and that I fell into water... nothing of that made really sense... Well, my dreams never make sense LOL! By waking up I just knew what to write about... I wanted a young Nick in that story because I always wanted to know what Nick was like as a child. I wasn't really sure if I should let you all know from the beginning that he is a young boy in that story... and during writing it I thought it would be better to leave it open till the end :-D It all fitted together and the anthill at the beginning should have been the only point where one should be able to tell that the Nick at the beginning couldn't be Nick at the present time. I always pictured Nick as an animal lover and I somehow think that his traumatic childhood experience was a cause of it... that he enjoyed the nature and the animals and the peace coming with them because he could be himself, without the need to hide anything. It was so easy to write out of his point of view... out of the view of a nine year old. I can't even tell why but I somehow think it was easier for me to write the child Nick then an adult Nick... crazy, isn't it?? That's the first time I had the story completely in my head, without the doubts I usually have with my stories... It was there and I just wrote it down. I feel very confident about this story, since it is the first of my stories that turned out the way I wanted it to be :-D I really hope you like it all :-) Here is the story behind my story Thoughts Of A Mother :-) The story was written for the fourth Nick Fic Song Challenge. The song we used this time was The Eleventh Commandment Written by Karen Taylor-Good & Lisa Aschmann The title of the story just came to me right after reading the song lyrics for the first time. I just knew I would write Jillian Stokes this time don't ask why, I just knew. I had five different concepts for this story and wrote three down before I finally knew what I wanted. That never happened before and somehow I thought that I would maybe never get one done. Well like I already said it s easier for me to write Nick as a child then as an adult because then I can write him with no expectations. No one of us knows how Nick was like as a child but we can see him as an adult in the show. For me writing about him as a child was a safe place to play. The teddy bear was the only real object out of Nick's childhood, something that could bring Jillian back to the years where Nick was a little boy. I thought a stuffed animal would be perfect because I myself still have the stuffed animal I got from my grandpa as I was born. That is just something you don t give away or forget over the years. I liked writing Jillian I wrote her as that kind of mom we all would like to have and should have. Moms who love their children think like that about their children, they're always there for them and have a hard time realizing that children grow up and build there own lives. They never stop loving you, no matter how much you change. I never had a mom like that but I would be proud to have one like Jillian. What do I have to say about my story The Inability To Let Go? The story was written for the fifth Nick Fic Song Challenge on TalkCSI. The song we used this time was Storm Written by Jason Wade This story, well... I just wrote it, I guess :-) The original version was much longer... but I finally managed to get it cut to 2.500 words :-) I wanted to write an adult Nick this time and I also wanted to try writing parts where people speak. It maybe sounds stupid but since English isn't my first language I really struggled with it... and I'm glad it worked out finally. I was always asking myself how Nick thinks about Eli and that Warrick never told him about him. I wish they would show Nick visiting Eli. I wanted to write something about Nick and Warrick... and as I watched For Warrick again I saw those papers about the paternity test Warrick had in his closet and there I read about Christina Brewster and Eli Brewster... and then I just started writing :-D Some thoughts about my story Dreaming of a Better World: The story was written for the eighth Nick Fic Song Challenge on TalkCSI. The song we used this time was Angel Written and performed by Sarah McLachlan The story theme is based on an event that actually really happened in our neighborhood five years back. Three boys, not older than 12, tortured cats with burning candles, hot wax and knifes and had fun with it. They were never charged for what they did because they were too young for our law system… I used Nick as THE angel in this one because I always thought of him as an animal lover and a person you just have to trust. It was hard for me to write this story, since it was a hard theme and I wanted to write out of the animal’s point of view as well as out of Nick’s. I don’t know if you recognized it but I never said what kind of animal Sammy was… in fact he can be a cat or a dog in this one. But I need to say that I think of him more as a cat than a dog. In my opinion helping someone doesn’t always mean that you save this someone’s life. You can also help in giving comfort and security. It’s hard to realize that we can’t always save the ones we care about. It takes a lot of strength to realize that and stay with them until the end. That’s what I wanted Nick to realize in my story. There you go a few words about my Christmas story This Time of the Year: The story was written for the Christmas Nick Fic Song Challenge on TalkCSI. The song we used this time was Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer Written and performed by Randy Brooks This story came to me while writing on my original idea for this challenge :-) It was so weird… I was already late starting to write and bang I got a new idea and started again… that was two days before the deadline. That I got it done is a wonder, since I normally need at least a week to write a fic and that without writing it on paper first. My original idea was writing Nick as an ugly gnome ;-) The funny thing about that is that I got this idea without the song… I read Christmas challenge and I thought ‘That’s it!’ but that was also the problem… since it absolutely didn’t fit the song idea I had a hard time writing it and was happy to get a new idea, just to find out that this one has also not really anything to do with the song idea… I don’t know if I like the result or not… I like the idea with the gnome watching the ado of a family before Christmas and that the gnome is ugly but very special. Not every special thing needs to be beautiful, that’s what I wanted to show with this fic. I wanted to bring some Christmas tradition in too… and needed to do a little research as to how you all celebrate Christmas in the US, since it is really different from how we do it in Germany. I needed to bring the song in somehow, since this is part of the challenge… and so I chose it as a favorite Christmas song of one of the family members. I chose Bill because I wanted to show how Christmas time changes peoples moods and behaviour and so it was just natural to choose Bill for it :-) I think he did well singing the song over and over though ;-) I hope I captured the family feeling enough in this fic because that’s what I think Christmas is about… The love for your family and everyone who is part of it :-) I would really like to know how the Stokes’ really spent their Christmas time… I would like to have a CSI episode where Nick talks a little about it :-D I really appreciate constructive reviews on my stories because it would help me to get better, so please don't be shy and drop a line :-) |
