![]() Author has written 1 story for Rurouni Kenshin, and Inuyasha. Writing is a new thing for me. I gotta say though, I enjoy it when I have a clear story I want to tell, and I have power metal goodness to accompany me. My current job is as an O-level avionics technician for the V-22 Osprey. AKA The Transformer. (If you know what a V-22 is you know what I'm talking about.) It takes up a good chunk of my time, but not all of it. Hobbies include martial arts, guitar, knife throwing, and recently writing. I have a thing for happy endings. Not sure why, maybe because life doesn't always have one. Either way, I may end up nearly killing my characters, hell I may actually kill them. But just know that the chances of the story ending on that kind of note are slim to none. So don't bite my head off if I decide to be particularly cruel to them, there will be a dawn after the darkness. If you happen to read anything I make an attempt to write, then please do point out mistakes and ways to improve. When The Lights Are Down is my first attempt at fanfiction. My hope is that the story I tell is of a significant depth and that it will flow well enough so that the reader will not become bored and uninterested with long overdone descriptions. I have a habit of lingering too long on descriptions of whats going on and neglecting the proper use of dialoge. I've made a concious effort to avoid this as much as I'm willing to without taking away from the imagery of the story. So I tend to use plenty of comparisons to real world effects and sensations to avoid spending five paragraphs on things like the shortness of breath that comes with running long distances. Little things here or there, but I'm well aware that I could use a fair amount of improvement. That is where you, the reader, come into play. If you enjoy the story I tell, don't hesitate to shove my mistakes into my face. Even things like "the chapter was snorzzzzville man!" will actually help quite a bit. The first step to improvement is knowing that a problem exist. A little about myself. I was born in the state of Washington. My father was enlisted in the Marine Corps, so we never lived in the same place for more than four years at a time. I grew up with contempt for most of society and authority. I was considered a bad boy through high school. Did plenty of things that the school system would have had a cow over had they known. Then I joined the Marine Corps, following in my father's footsteps. Which is where I find myself now. Life's been one crazy ride, but I enjoyed it, and my story hasn't ended yet. |
