Port is much more than a design of winemaking, but a winemaking classification set up in 1756—making it the oldest officially regulated wine in the globe. It is a fortified, usually sweet, soon after dinner drink, developed and created in Portugal’s Douro Valley. Its origin is much less than romantic than other wines, insomuch that it was the outcome of England’s trade constraints with France—and the problems of transport wine—rather than a community tradition. But more than time, Port has defined its possess tradition and can be the most exquisite way to stop a prolonged meal—especially when dining in England, in which the beverage has the widest appeal. Like Sherry, we here at PJ’s come to feel that Port is a little bit unloved on our shores, and we are here to defend it. My websites: Generating Port Wine at House
