![]() Author has written 74 stories for Numb3rs, Supernatural, White Collar, and Lethal Weapon. I am a native New Yorker now living in Virginia Beach. Not a writer by any means but I love writing about Sam and Dean Winchester, in particular their relationship. They are are like halves of the same soul. I love the original concept of this show even if I don't like all the seasons or how the characters were treated in them. This show became lost in the second half of Season 4 when it stopped telling the story of Sam and Dean. Season 5 I'd like to scrub from my brain as both boys had been played all of Season 4 with the facts to back it up. Yet Eric kripke decided to white wash Castiel being Dean's Ruby, which unbalanced the show and send it spiraling. Sam, like Dean, was a victim and pawn in all of this, yet he became absurdly of all people the scapegoat for everything while Castiel who had orchestrated the whole apocalypse with his fellow Angels and ensured it started by using and manipulating both brothers got a pass for all his crimes against mankind and for betraying the brothers. Season 6 was erratic on the front and back end, but had some good episodes in the middle like "Clap Your Hands" and "Caged Heat" but this need to accommodate Castiel each season with an Angel mythology not only kept the boy's journey stagnant, it had also reached the level of pathetic by the way Season 6 ended. Season 7 is best left forgotten after episode 2 and that's not hard to do. It was in episode 11 of Season 8 that the light was finally turned back on in Supernatural. Jeremy Carver had restored this show, and the brothers back to their true selves, even better once he found his footing. He put this show's focus back on its heart, the brothers, and their relationship and he found a way to move them forward again on their journey even with having to keep Castiel in the show. Carver has added in some wonderful new concepts to focus the show back on the brothers and the family business again. To return Supernatural to being the story of Sam and Dean and about family and bring the boys closer. Like "The Men of Letters" a place for Sam to finally fit into the hunting life and the bunker a home for the boys something Dean has always wanted. I don't agree with Carver on everything but the man has spent the last 2 seasons fixing things, righting a lot of wrongs, especially with the characters and now he is in the process of restoring that balance that Kripke wrongly removed so long ago and its being done in a different way, a smart way by Carver with Dean's Mark of Cain storyline.Which nicely parallels Sam's demon blood storyline and his addiction. Its not as good as the truth playing out like it should've in Season 5 and all those lies and betrayals by Castiel being revealed to both brothers. But its a long time wrong Carver is setting right the best way he can. As he continues to tell the story of Sam and Dean. |
