Welcome to My World. Leave your Sanity at the Door. Alright. This is the deal, I hate Phake Phans. A Phake Phan is someone who has just seen the movie and currently swoons over the idea of Gerard Butler without ever having seen the original Broadway production or bypasses reading the book. There are several things that Phake Phans do to alert you that they are phake phans. 1) Erik is not going to fall in love with someone because of their ridiculously long, perfect name and flawless appearance. He loved Christine because of her personality and her capability for music. She was the first woman to reach out to him, and the last. He would never love any one else. It's just that way. 2) Christine and Raoul are not evil. Quite the contrary. They are young and in love. No matter how surprising it may be to some people Raoul deeply cares for Christine and she cares for him. Their ties go back to childhood and it's not like Raoul didn't go to save her (even if he did jump head first into a situation he had no idea about). 3) The movie is not the only form of Phantom entertainment. There are several books (My favorites being the original novel and Susan Kay's piece) as well as different movie versions, and of course the Broadway production. In each version they always usegenerally thesame description of Erik (Except The Phantom of Manhatten, but we won't get into that) and he is a human being with normal feelings, perhaps murderous ones as well. He's not perfect and it is sure that the woman he falls in love with isn't perfect either! If I Review your Phic, I have either given you advice on how to make it more Phantom Phriendly or given you a pat on the back for a good job. I really don't like flaming, but it is something I will do if the situation is dire enough. Thank you, and goodnight. Here comes the night |
