After any global, life-changing event, there's bound to be an adjustment period. Most of the world takes a deep breath, reassesses genetics, and keeps on keeping on. Peter's adjustment period is A) longer and B) considerably more complicated.

There are no invisible rats in this story. There is, however, a drugged and hallucinating Magneto, a cranky Charles, and a pretty shocking revelation about our favourite stuttering scientist.

It's the zombie apocalypse, which means Magneto is handing out guns and getting dangerous. But what's he supposed to do when it's his own son who gets bitten?

"Teachers always need more school supplies, but why would Magneto donate them?" When some metal pens arrive at the mansion, Professor X reminisces.

A giant chunk of stadium lighting falling on a person doesn't tend to leave them uninjured. Charles finds that out the hard way and Erik has some time to think.

Post-DOFP Mystique turns up at the Xavier mansion in labour. The question of the night is - who's the father? Same verse as 'Daddy Issues' and 'Murdering Charles Xavier."

Post DOFP. Erik gets it into his head that the only way to gain support for the mutant cause is by making Charles a martyr. Charles and the others have issues with this. Sequel to Daddy Issues.

"I have a son," Erik says from the rubble. He truly is the master of dramatic entrances. or, That time Erik got wasted and crashed into the side of the mansion.

Set post DOFP. Charles and Erik play a game of chess.

Post-DOFP. Kitty Pryde travels back to 1974, where she meets Pietro. Maybe that wasn't a good idea.

Post-Cuba. Magneto returns to the Xavier mansion one night for a game of chess, but gets a markedly different reception than the one he was expecting.

While Erik is in prison, Charles visits him telepathically.

"I have to find them." Charles replied quietly, looking at Erik – pleading with him to understand. As Erik gazed into the man's tired, pain-stricken eyes, he wondered - not for the first time - how this man could be so damn good. Brave and strong and constantly putting everyone else in the world above himself. - What if Erik and Charles had been able to find a middle ground?

First Class fic. After an explosion in Hank's lab - Sean's fault, of course - Charles and Erik gain new aspects to their powers.

While he does not believe in salvation, Erik cannot ignore the fact that meeting Charles Xavier has changed something. Whether he can pursue his goal of exacting revenge on Shaw and still maintain the fragile but reassuring sense of mutual understanding with Charles, remains to be seen.

"Everyone has a weakness," Erik had once said to Charles, "And exploiting that weakness is fair game." Charles had had issues with this statement, of course. He had said, "Exploiting people is never fair game, Erik." ...In which Charles has to do the unthinkable.

'Change is that quick, and that destructive. A second is nothing. One week is nothing. Erik thinks about his one week a lot. Too much.' Erik spends one week at the mansion learning how to care - he finds his power, finds friends, finds a home and perhaps even finds love...and then he abandons it all. This is his one week.
