Howdy, y'all! I am a HUGE fanfiction nut. There are just so many good writers here to admire! I've actually been visiting this site for approximately 1.5 years, but I've only just decided to get an account. Un tres bon idee, non? Who knows? I may come up with something to write someday ( if my teachers decide to stop giving us so much work. But that's as unlikely as the sky falling and my nose falling off. Or as impossible as me not liking Howl from Hayao Miyazaki's new film, "Howl's Moving Castle", based on the book by Dianna Wynne Jones.) Anyhoo, just a few things about me. Age: Just turned 15! Location: Hong Kong. FYI, that's a small island, but MAJOR city/port, located Southeast of China. waves chopsticks Ever try Dim Sum? If not, put that on your "things to do before I die" list. It's e-x-c-e-l-l-e-n-t. Background:I'm half American-Russian, half Chinese. It's cool. Je parle English, Mandarin et un petit peut de Francais. Likes: 1) I am PASSIONATE about writing. I would write fanfiction all day long, if I could, but my cruel teachers insist on giving me loads of work. Sheesh. I have 9 assessments next week. And that's a heck of a lot. However, as a requirement of the teaching system MYP (Middle Years Program)which our school follows, we have to do a Personal Project, which can be anything, as long as you write a detailed essay/reflection of 4000 words. What I did was write a short story/series...whatever you want to call it. It's a romance story that takes place in England during the Second World War. I may update it onto Fictionpress someday, so keep your eyes peeled and maybe you can check it out! I like people reading my work. 2) Books- The Belgariad + Mallorean Series, His Dark Materials Trilogy, Harry Potter, Many Waters, Archangel, To Kill a Mockingbird, Peter Pan, The Hobbit, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, A Series of Unfortunate Events...and it goes on. In other words, a lot of books. 3) Miyazaki Animated Cartoons-I love cartoons by Hayao Miyazaki. They are just so...magical. I remember the first one I ever watched being My Neighbor Totoro. It was great. My current favorite is Spirited Away. The animations were just so beautiful and lifelike, and it was really touching. Music was excellent as well. However, his new film, Howl's Moving Castle, is said to be absolutely amazing. So I may have a tie now. 4)Yu-gi-oh. My little brother recieved a pack of Yu-gi-oh cards and DVDs for Christmas, and ever since then, I have been infatuated with it. Weird, but true. It's funny how siblings can influence you so much. 5) Fanfiction. As said above, I cannot SURVIVE without it. Seriously, I start panicking when I don't have access to my computer. No computer = no fanfiction. Boo hoo hoo. It's like the drug that keeps me alive. To you people out there who write stories, I love you all! You make my days sunny, no matter how gloomy they are. ( ok, that sounds corny but it's true!) You are ALL excellent authors and I greatly encourage you to pursue your interests. Maybe one day I'll see some of your books on the New York #1 Bestseller's List! Okie. Enough said for now. Au revoir! - Ce'Lyra |
