Ana leaves the man she loves who can't let go of his past and let her in to his heart. She returns to him with a little boy and Christian is immediately drawn to the copper haired, gray eyed 5 year old who shares a traumatic past identical to his own. Now, can he fight his own demons to save them both? Or will the sins of father once again be visited upon the son.

Ana asked Christian how bad it could be, and so he showed her. Leaving Christian, Ana finds herself alone and running from the man who bruised her backside yet owns her heart. But Seattle is a big place, and Christian isn't the only man with a dark past and even darker desires. There are some things - and people - even Christian can't protect her from.

This is the story of two people desperately in love with each other but deeply insecure. When a misunderstanding occurs they both let their insecurities take over and separate. Eighteen years later a series of events casts a new light on their past and their lives begin to unravel while the whirlwind of exposed secrets and long buried feelings affects everyone around them.
