I began my writing career at the tender age of 11. While my imagination helped keep me out of trouble, I'm sure my English teachers cursed every time they received a completed assignment from me. Writing fiction has always come easy to me, but I had problems completing college papers of more than 1,000 words.

I began writing fandom before I even knew there was such a thing. At the time, I had just moved to the United States and wasn't working. I didn't have a computer so I watched a lot of TV, including Northern Exposure reruns. In my head, I created an entire scenario based on Joel returning to Cicely although I never wrote it down. Ten months later, I went online to look for Star Wars related websites and discovered Han/Leia fanfiction. My course was set.

I've written for numerous fandoms, including Star Trek Voyager and Stargate SG-1. The majority of my works are relationship 'ship' fics, with only a small amount of plot. A complete list of fandoms in which I write is at the bottom of this profile.

People have asked why I use the pen name Matt. I began writing using my own name, Sally, and then a nickname given to me in a music fan group community, Matteabrit since I like the singer Kathy Mattea and I'm British. Someone in the Voyager fandom called me Matt one day and I liked it. I used it first in the Andromeda community, but it really stuck when I began writing Sam/Jack in SG-1 fandom. There were already a number of Sallys in the community and I wanted to be different! Even today, people still call me Matt when we meet in person.

Most of my pieces are only one chapter long. I try only to post completed works. I've only ever posted a Work In Process once, and it still haunts me. I keep swearing I'll complete it, even though it's been four years since I first began writing it.

I have a Live Journal with the same username. A lot of my fic gets posted there before it comes here. You'll also find the drabbles that I write as I don't post those here.

I've noticed a few folks looking for new chapters to a completed fic. Just to make it clear, TBC means I plan on posting more and Finis means it's done, it's complete, no more to come. Yeah, I'm a bit weird like that. Never could do anything the simple way.
