Kate and Caroline are on loan from Last Tango, which was written by Sally Wainwright who has now finally admitted that it was a mistake to kill off Kate. Here K and C will be treated with respect and love and some wrongs will be righted. The story starts on their wedding day but there are some twists along the way and the authors hope that these changes will meet with your approval

Caroline and kate ... This was going to be a few one off lusty passion filled updates. But it's grown on me and you have all been so kind it's beginning to turn into more of a fic, with a high % of lust and passion. Anyway it's just a bit of fun, hope you enjoy ;)

John gives Caroline an early draft of his new novel and she's dismayed to find that not only has he not left Alison Waterhouse behind as he'd promised, but he's written a version in which he manages to upset pretty much every member of the extended Dawson/Elliot/Greenwood family. Caroline is not pleased. This is my alternative series three, from episode 3 onwards.

In response to the tremendous stuff-up that has occurred on Last Tango in Halifax, let me FIX it for you. The policeman knocks on Caroline's door, and after that we have a tale of realisation, hurt, recovery, pain and joy all rolled into one. With all we know of Caroline, we know this won't be easy for her, but what we do know is that Kate and Caroline will live happily ever after

This is set two years post LTIH Series 3 and gently introduces a new woman into Caroline's life.

A happy, fluffy, multi-chapter fic about our favourite ladies falling in love.

Going back to the beginning with a few variations and the bits in between we missed. (It's been a while so bare with me :) )

It's Christmas Eve and Kate has a sudden change of heart and returns to the wedding. She asks Caroline to dance and they take to the floor, totally oblivious to anyone. On Valentines' day, Caroline proposes and Kate accepts. But what happened in 7 weeks to change things? NB This story references my previous story, "In the Beginning" - you might want to read this first!

It's been a long while since I've posted any stories...but these two...they just beg for more. My take on a Caroline and Kate beginning. Heavy on character in the beginning, but will try to move into more dialogue driven updates in future. The characters are not of my own making. However, they do bend to my will...in my wee corner of the universe. If only on screen, too!

Before Kate divorced Richard she had a baby called Daisy. And now Daisy's three and her favourite person in the whole wide world is Caroline Elliot. And that's Kate's favourite person too, of course, although Caroline doesn't know it. So how is Kate going to balance the demands of her smitten daughter without falling even further in love with her boss?

A chance meeting has Hogwarts Headmistress Caroline Elliot spending quality time with the school's Runes Professor, Kate McKenzie. A 'sparks fly' joke would be too easy.

Caroline has just received the devastating news that her new wife, Kate, has been involved in a car accident. She rushes to the hospital and is taken to one side by the surgeon. Her cry is heard resounding through the hospital but what has she been told? This story rewrites the last 3 episodes of Series 3 while paying total respects to the road that Sally decided to take

Scenes between Christmas reconciliation and Valentine's Day 2015. Chapter 10 is the last installment for this story. I love these characters and am still drawn to writing about them. But the canon has veered wildly off course. Even Homer nodded, but I want to spend some time thinking about how to deal with the matters before I write again.

A few chapters of missing scenes that I wish had happened in the series. Features the boys, and Caroline and Kate mostly. Season 2 chapter now posted.

As we head towards series three being aired on UK TV, there are rumours that Last Tango will not have the happy ending that the fans are hoping for. I am indebted to Sally Wainwright for her wonderful creations but just in case she has trauma and sadness in mind for Kate and Caroline, here at least they will remain happy ever after...

After writing 'A Long Way to Arrive at a Kiss', I got to thinking that it might be a good idea to write a similar piece detailing how Kate found that same period of time. So, here it is. The title is taken from another exquisite Neruda poem...because it seemed appropriate.

These character's of Sally Wainwright have captured my imagination. I've never wanted a good book to end - or an exceptional Series such as Last Tango in Halifax. So I'm experimenting with taking them beyond the storyline while attempting to stay true to what Sally has given us to this point, the end of season 2. My thanks to everyone who brought this production to us.

Caroline and Kate catch each other in mildly compromising situations and then...oh, give it your best guess. Not even gonna pretend this one has a plot. Don't read at work. (My fourth story for McElliot.)

I felt like writing a story based on a good old fanfic cliche, so this is Caroline and Kate accidentally forced to share a bed. You, um, probably shouldn't read this at work. My third story for Mcelliot.

What would have happened if Kate and Caroline had grown closer when Caroline's marriage was still intact? Would they have resisted all temptation or been drawn into a painful love affair? My second story for McElliot.

This was originally going to be a chapter of The Future is Past but it seemed...bigger than that. It's set between S2, Ep4 and S2, Ep6 where Caroline had a lot of time on her hands and a lot of thinking to do. The title is taken from a Pablo Neruda poem. If you don't read my fic, please read the poem. In fact, just read Neruda.

UPDATED: Now an ongoing fic due to some really kind and lovely feedback! How did Caroline and Kate get from Kate's confession of a crush to their first kiss...and then to a loving relationship? Here's my version.

Set after the wedding day. Kate has spent the night with Caroline. My fictional interpretation of what happened next. I am an optomist so no apologies for wishing them a happy ending. As usual no characters are mine they all belong to Sally Wainright...

I haven't written in a looooooong time but Last Tango in Halifax and in particular the characters of Caroline Elliott and Kate McKenzie have inspired me to try to imagine what happened after Ep6, S2 ended. The characters don't belong to me but to the immensely talented Sally Wainwright - I hope she won't mind me borrowing them & I'll try to leave them pretty much as I found them.

What if Kate and Caroline had not been interrupted by Beverley bringing in a cup of tea in series 1 episode 5?
