Or is the hysteria in his mind left by the Capitol still clawing at him, whispering for him to let go, let the madness take over for a while, and leave him wondering whether his fingers around Katniss' throat might not have been such a horrible idea after all..?

The ballad was of a soldier, who after the war wanted to return home. But instead of welcoming him with open arms, his family snatched as many words as they could and threw them at him, driving him away, but not before he saw what he had really done to them. Then these words were whispered away, mother to child and sister to brother. And they were never forgotten.

I asked Peeta about it that night, but he didn't answer right away. I suppose that's the way it goes with artists; they are so buried in the depth of their minds that all they are aware of is the colors before them and the brush that creates what their thoughts could not fathom into words. But after a while, he turned and whispered to me, "Skies, Katniss. I'm painting skies."

Post-Mockingjay. Katniss and Peeta are back home. Katniss has all but forgotten those who wished to be forgotten, including Gale, who hasn't spoken to her in nearly a year, becoming nothing but a bitter memory. But one day, Katniss is told of her best friend in Two, who has transformed into a monster who's willing to die for a chance to see the woman he loved since he was a child.
