Author has written 4 stories for Harry Potter. Welcome to my Fanfiction account. I imagine that the reason you’re reading this right now is because you read one of my stories and, for some reason, decided to check out my account. If that is the case, thank you for reading. It means a lot that people do read my stuff. If you don’t know, my name is not, in fact, Colin. It’s a name that I chose when I became a Facebook Page admin for the page “That awkward moment when Voldemort goes to put on glasses and they fall off” years ago. The “Master of Whisperers” part is lifted directly from George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” series which, as I’m sure some of you will know, is the book series that the HBO show “Game of Thrones” is based off. I am 23 years old at the moment, and I have a degree in Creative Writing. Creative writing is a passion of mine and I firmly believe that fanfiction is a great way for any potential writer to hone their skills in a risk-free environment. I remember years ago I dismissed fanfiction, but a good friend of mine convinced me to read “Harry Potter and the Methods of Rationality” and from there I’ve been one of the biggest proponents for the medium that you will find. At the moment, my sole focus when writing fanfiction is “Harry Potter”, although I do draw writing inspiration from other sources, primarily the aforementioned “A Song of Ice and Fire” series which I will admit is my favourite series of books of all time. I would try my hand at writing fanfiction for that series but it is so daunting that I really don’t want to even try. If you have been paying attention to my writing, you will note that it has been over a year since I last uploaded a chapter to any of my stories. In fact, it was around that date, now that I think on it, that some things in my life started to get bad. But that’s over now, and so, I hope, is this drought of content. My lack of uploading has not been because of a lack of inspiration or ideas or even, if I’m being completely honest, written work. In fact, I have had all of these things. I have just been lacking any motivation for some time, but that motivation has returned. So, I feel that I should write something for those who are still sticking around despite my disappearance on here. At this point, I will go through each of my stories and my future uploading plans. So if you only follow one of them, find that one for any information you might want. "The Stains of Time" Synopsis Harry Potter failed in his task to defeat the Dark Lord on May 2nd, 1998, thus solidifying Voldemort's hold over Magical Britain and condemning many to death. In 2003, five years after Voldemort's monumental victory at Hogwarts, those who had denounced the magical world are forcibly drawn back into it as a rebellion is forming in the shadows. Various viewpoints and storylines. This story is, ultimately, the flagship story of this account. This account started with this story and, as such, I treat it as the most important one. Recently I went through all of the chapters so far uploaded for this story and edited them so that they read better. I also currently have 2 chapters written right at this very moment as well as 33 chapters planned out. I would prefer to have at least five, hopefully more, written before I start uploading again for this story. I cannot give a specific date as I still have University to attend to, but you can rest assured that as soon as I reach a good number of completed chapters, I will start uploading chapters whenever I finish the next one. "Harry Potter and the Unfortunate Son" Originally posted on the account Beletrium. Synopsis Harry Potter is about to turn eleven, and his relatives are fed up with him being around their house, so they do the unthinkable. They tell him what he is. As Harry makes his way through his First Year at Hogwarts, he discovers that almost everybody can be redeemed. This was my very first fanfiction, and it remains to this day the only multi-chapter fanfiction that I have ever actually completed. It’s the first of seven planned stories, and I always felt bad that I let the series be incomplete. That’s why I decided to bring it back up on this account. Because this was a complete story, the only thing I had to do was go through and edit the existing chapters, which I did over a year ago. I currently have 24 chapters ready to be uploaded of this story as well as 16 of the sequel. Going forwards, I plan to upload two chapters a week. One on Mondays and one on Fridays. I won’t necessarily have a set time that this go up, but I will hopefully have a chapter uploaded each of those days. That gives me until December 26 to write more chapters, which I hopefully will find time to do. "Harry Potter and the Tears of an Angel" Originally posted on the account Koldrian. Synopsis Voldemort had another Horcrux. Nineteen years later he returned. In 2047, Harry Potter and Luna Lovegood, the two remaining human beings on Earth send sixty minutes of memories each to their younger selves. Based on numbers here and on my previous channels, this is my most popular story. I love that people love this story so much, but I do think it is the most difficult one to write, primarily because of the flashbacks. I really do want to finish this one despite that. I love the concept of this one, and I like the challenge of writing it. I only have one complete chapter ready to be uploaded and, if I’m being honest, this one will probably be the one story I write less frequently so the uploads will be more sporadic. Basically, when I’ve got one written I’ll upload it. "Changing Constants" Originally posted on the account Colin Creevey 1997. Synopsis Upon his death, Albus Dumbledore learns something from a Higher Power about the man with the mutilated soul, Tom Riddle. This Higher Power gives Albus Dumbledore the chance to change the course of the world. This one could be seen as the spiritual predecessor to "The Stains of Time" in that I started the idea of multiple perspectives in this story (though I had dabbled here and there in the "Unfortunate Son" series). And similar to “Tears of an Angel”, I tried to use the Time Travel trope a bit differently here. It’s actually this particular story that has gotten me back into fanfiction writing a bit more recently as I have spent some time writing out chapter synopses for the next 32 chapters. I have decided to change the format of this story somewhat and, in doing so, the uploading style will change. From now on, this story will be split into parts. Part I is entitled Change Begets Change and consists of Chapters 1-13, the last 3 of which I have yet to upload. I will upload one chapter a day of these three starting Wednesday (10/08/2016). However, there will be a substantial gap until I complete Part II, tentatively titled Election Season, 1996. Once this Part is complete, I will upload the 12 chapters at a rate of one a day until all of them are uploaded. There will then be another gap to complete Part III, even more tentatively titled Innocence, which will consist of 20 chapters which, just like Part II, will be uploaded once a day. There will be another gap for the next Part and so on and so forth. I’m doing it this way as I noticed a pattern in the chapters and decided it would be best to split them up into more storyline-oriented parts. Also, it allows me to upload in a similar manner to something like television or Netflix. Somewhere in between, really. FUTURE PLANS While I do have my hands full with four ongoing, lengthy stories, I do have at least one other story that I want to do. After reading “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child”, which I absolutely loved, I couldn’t help but wish the story was in a novel form similar to the original books. As a result, I have the urge to write a version myself. This will not be something coming soon. Even if I were to miraculously start and finish it tomorrow, I would still wait at least two months before posting up this story. And, in any case, I will want to wait until it is complete to upload it, which will likely take a long time. By that point, I’m sure there will be a lot of attempts to do exactly this, but this, more than any other fanfiction I have ever written, will be a passion project that I will do mainly for myself. I will upload it if I get it finished, but that could be a long time from now. I may decide to update this page to let you know where I’m up to in writing this story. ~Colin, The Master of Whisperers |
