![]() Author has written 5 stories for Harry Potter, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Ok, so lets finally get to this profile thing :) Age: Just turned 26 Live: Levittown, Long Island, New York Schooling: B.A in Psychology Why I Write: Let's just say I not the most talkative person on this planet...far from it actually. "Say what you mean and mean what you say" is a motto I've tried to live by for a long time and it doesn't exactly lend itself to talking for the sake of talking eh? Also, I grew up in very creative household. My grandmother made a living as an artist for years, my father is a architect who still draws his own plans by hand, my younger brother was an art major in college and has written a cute little children's book to go along with some brilliant illustrations of his (to my ultimate chagrin he will probs be published before I ever finish an idea of my own). Also, my mother crafts like a fiend and has story ideas all the time (You should write...). That said, no one I know, actually knows I do write. Well, except for one of my old college roommates, but its not like she ever read anything of mine or knew what any of it was about. I've never let a living soul that wasn't on the internet see my stuff. So, feedback is extra important to me, seeing as I've never had it. Anyway, I write because I think a lot and because I have lots of down time in my life. I work as a sub T.A right now, leaving my afternoons mostly free. I do fanfic because I hate when a series/show I like ends. In my head the story goes on into eternity, with full details. That said, I believe in canon stories. If the author made the decision to put people together or kill someone who are you to change it? That's just my stance. Lastly, I've been writing since I started college. It's been an escape and saving grace for me like whoa. I hope to be writing for my whole life, for fun or for profit. Fave stuff Hobbies: Reading, Writing in my head (sometimes on paper too ;), trivia quizzes and crosswords, Watching sports, playing fantasy sports, watching countless tv shows and going out to dinner. Books: HP series, both Percy Jackson series, A Song of Ice and Fire, HG trilogy, James Bond novels, A Prayer for Owen Meany (all time favorite), Chronicles of Narnia, Lord of the Rings trilogy, Artemis Fowl series, The Great Gatsby, To Kill a Mockingbird, His Dark Materials, Catcher in the Rye, Inheritance Cycle, A Wrinkle in Time, The Firm. Movies: Good Will Hunting, Forrest Gump, Casino Royale, Rain Man, POTC movies, Bourne Movies, Boondock Saints, Bend it Like Beckham & Catch Me If You Can. Sports: I'm a New Yorker through and through. US National Soccer teams, Yankees, Knicks, Giants, Islanders and sort of the Jets and Mets (blame my mom's whole family). Plus, I'm an Olympics watching fiend every two years. I played indoor badminton in HS (it's amazing) and also soccer. TV: Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Orphan Black, Bates Motel, Elementary, both NCIS's, Grey's Anatomy, Suits, White Collar, Arrow, Survivor, Jeopardy & Chicago Fire. Used to Watch and will love forever: Dexter, Breaking Bad, Friday Night Lights, One Tree Hill, Burn Notice, House, Rescue Me and E.R among others. If the world was a perfect place I would be an Olympic soccer keeper or a published author (that ship hasn't sailed yet at least). Lastly, feel free to shoot me message to talk or ask me to be your beta if your story is in any category I'm interested in. I've never been a beta, had a beta or tried a challenge but I'm curious about that stuff a bit. The poet John Donne once wrote, "No man (or woman either) is an island..." My mother's also said that to me for years and eventually I stopped pretending she wasn't right :) |
