![]() Author has written 15 stories for Torchwood, and NCIS. Hi, I am a newbie at writing fiction of any kind. I haven't done this since school. My daughter introduced me to fan fiction, and having a week off work at home decided to give it a go. Torchwood is my favourite show at the moment, and I love the fact that anything can happen. There is no limit to the imagination of the writers, and the acting and characterisation are excellent. I miss it when it is off air, so I thought why not write my own stories! Hope you enjoy it. please let me know if you do or don't! I have just had a day off and went with a friend to Borders, one of my favourite ways to spend a day, choosing new things to read, sharing favourite authors with a friend. (Couldn't persuade her about online fiction though - she likes the feel of a book too much.) Anyway I thought why not share my favourite authors with you. After all I have nothing better to do - apart from work of course. Georgette Heyer for Romance/humour possibly the best historical novelist ever. Read first if you are having difficulty getting into Austen or the Brontes. Stephen Fry (QI, Kingdom, Bones, )loves GH Terry Pratchett for Humour/wisdom and amazing characters. Neil Gaiman for pure wierdness Robert. B. Parker for thrillers where good always triumphs and humour too. Also able to tell a story in a very economical and exciting way. Robert Crais Thrilling action, ripping yarns. Eva Ibbotson for comfort and romance. Paul Doherty - Athlestan novels, because the main character is so lovely and innocent but amazingly interesting too. Dorothy L Sayers because Lord Peter Wimsey is so clever and I would love to have lived in his world. (Harriet rocks!) Mary Stewart - her Merlin series is still my favourite version of the King Arthur Myth, and I love the mixture of romance and thriller in her other novels. I could go on and on but I must go and do some work! |
