Tiamat42, in my humble opinion, is the very best author I've read on Fanfiction.net, and Decent of Mana is the story that got me hooked on her. Her attention to detail, masterfully fleshed out characters, and carefully woven and well paced plots are nothing less than professional quality writing. It's a common compliment on this site to tell someone they should be writing for a living. But in her case it's not just a nice thing to say.

Extremely sorry for the long wait, but Attached chapter 19 is finally here. Go read it. By the way, I'm currently looking for a new artist to continue illustrating some scenes from the story. Unfortunately, Shydrake, my last artist, said she is unable to continue, so she needs to be replaced. (Sorry Shy) I'd like to put these illustrations up on my deviant art page along side the chapters, or simply link to them if you are already on DA and want to post them yourself. I have a new oneshot called Remember. This story was inspired by a song of the same title by Disturbed. I was riding the train one day listening to my MP3 player and this whole thing developed in my head all of a sudden. Then I wrote it all up in one day, which is rare for me. I usually plan every story and every detail so meticulously. So this is really a change, and it shows in the style which feels very different that my other stuff. I hope it's still good.

Story Summaries:

Attached: Samus and Zelda both feel alienated from the rest of the world, but for very different reasons. When they meet at the inter-dimensional smash torments and they find in each other qualities that run in opposition to these feelings of isolation and become attracted to one another. -- Has a bit of something for everyone. Primarily romance, sometimes it’s angsty, sometimes it’s fluffy. There’s some action, drama and Sci-fi as well. Will also explore Samus’ past in parts.

My Precious Jewel: Legend of Mana: What happens when Pearl comes over to stay at the Heroine’s house? Fiona(The heroine) develops feelings for the shy Jumi guardian. Does Pearl return those feelings?

Saying Goodbye: Cloud finds something that drags up painful memories which eventually leads to new beginnings. And Tifa helps Cloud deal with losing Aeris.

Reunion: What happens when the one you love is gone and you come across someone exactly like them? Attempts to explain why Aeris is mysteriously alive in Kingdom Hearts when she died in FFVII.

Fused: This is an alternate ending to Metroid Fusion. Samus enlists the aid of the Metroids to combat the X. But she ends up discovering something disturbing about herself.

Hold Me: When Zelda is taken to safety by Impa after Ganon takes over Hyrule the two live together for many years while in hiding. The maturing Zelda can’t help but develop an attraction to her guardian.

One Girl...: Samus is a girl all alone in the world. Excerpts from the earlier years of her life. Each chapter will be a story unto itself, told as a series of journal entries from her point of view. Explore her past and find out how she became who she is.

Soul Mates: Samus is hired to investigate the sudden appearance of a space station in the heart of Federation space. What she finds there is much more than what she could ever have imagined. This is a crossover with Halo and is inspired by the film Haloid

Metroid: Tech Discussion: Samus meets a technician in a bar and they discuss the power suit and Chozo technology in detail. Aside from being a story this is also a reference for my other Metroid stories. This is how I believe the power suit to work. It will be how I intend it to operate for the most part in each story I write.

Girl Talk: When Samus tries to help Zelda with a terrible depression she finds the line between friendship and something more isn’t where she thought.

Remember: This is my take on Samus and Ridley's meeting during her first mission on Zebes, the first time they met again after he wiped out her home when she was a child.

Title: One Girl...
Description: Metroid: A series of chapters which would be individual stories in themselves. Each would tell of different times and events in Samus’ past. Primarily focusing on the period of time from when she left the Chozo to the time of her first Federation contracted job(Zero Mission).
Status: Chapter 5, is complete. The 6th is in progress, subsequent chapters are outlined.

Ghost in the Shell,
What is the nature of consciousness? Is an A.I. really alive? Can they feel emotions? Can they feel love? What happens when a Tachikoma has 'feelings' with regard to the Major that it can't explain as part of its normal program. After hours, the Major was working late and is on her way out when she is approached by said Tachikoma. A conversation ensues.

Legend of Zelda,
What is the Hylian religion? How do the people of Hyrule worship the three goddesses? What ceremonies do they hold? What are the rules of this religion? Under it, what is considered moral and immoral?

What if a dissident group that believes something different from the generally accepted norm tries to assert their own right to worship as they please(Not a violent up rising though, more of a political thing). They still believe in the same goddesses but just view it very differently (sort of like Catholics and Protestants). How do the laws of Hyrule say this group should be dealt with. As the ruler, Zelda would have to deal with this situation. What if her own personal beliefs are are a third option, and something different that what is expected of her. How does she deal with it? How does the fact that she holds the Triforce of Wisdom, a fragment of the goddesses power, play into her views and her handling of the situation.

I finally, finally got chapter 18 of Attached posted after not updating anything in forever. I think I forgot to mention that attached is being illustrated by Shydrake over on Deviant Art. You can view the first 5 chapters by checking out my journal. Now I run off to work on chapter 19 and hopefully not keep you waiting too long.

Wow, It's been a while since I've updated. To those that have been waiting for updates, I'm am really, really sorry. I'm always working on my stories however and intend to finished all of them. I do promise that. Attached chapter 18 is near to its release. I think I'll be focusing on just that until I complete chapter 20. After that I plan on working on One Girl and maybe a few one shots. Again sorry for the delays.

Chapter 17 of Attached is posted. Still stuck on One Girl. I know a lot of people will be pleased to know I'm writing a followup chapter for Soul Mates, mainly due to insane amounts of requests to continue it. Also that I have a second story with Zelda and Samus, it's done and just waiting on the beta reader.

Chapter 16 of Attached posted today, not much else.. Lets see, One Girl is struggling along, I've got the next chapter outlined and write a few about 20 or so paragraphs... but it's still slow going. This chapter just doesn't seem that interesting to me.

Finally finished chapter 15 of Attached, it took way too long and it still doesn't fell right. Anyway I'm just glad to be done with it. On to bigger and better things, namely chapter 16. I'm in need of some inspiration for next chapter of One Girl, I have a theme for the chapter and a basic idea of what I want to happen, but its not enough to make a good story out of... needs something more. I'm open to suggestions.

Ahh, forgot to up date this again. Last week I posted chapter 14 of Attached and just this weekend I put up the second Huntress. Attached 15 went through a little revisions so that was a set back, but 16 and 17 are nearing completion so thats good.

The next chapter of One Girl... has been posted, entitled Huntress. Samus gets her official hunter's license and a new nickname.Chapter 14 of Attached has been sent off to the beta reader, so hopefully soon... I also have made great progress on chapters 15 and 16 which are nearly completed as well, so maybe I can have a chance to focus on some other stories for a bit.

Attached 13 is finally up. Hooray! I have found someone to start illustrating some scenes from the story, that someone being zeldapeach. See my Deviant Art page for more info. One girl... chapter 3 is under way. And I have started a Samus x Zelda one shot, but I'm not really focused on, most of my energies are spent on Attached and One Girl at this point. I'll work on it when ever I get stuck on the other two, using it as a distraction to clear my head. So don’t expect it anytime soon.

For those reading Attached, over the course of December (from the 6th to the 30th) I have been updating the old chapters. Mostly I have been cleaning up grammar and spelling mistakes. However I have been cleaning up some of the story as well. Adding a line here or there or changing one around and rewording them, Sometimes I've add as much as a paragraph in places. Most of changes like this were made in chapters 10, 11 and 12, especially 12. I haven't changed the plot at all so don't worry about that, what I have been doing is making the story closer to my original vision, clarifying character feelings and motivations, explaining things better. I feel that the story is much stronger now. So I encourage you to go back an re-read it, at least re-read 10 through 12.December 22, 2007,

I finished the second chapter of One Girl... , 'Learning to Fly'. A young Samus leaves the Chozo and renters human society, problems ensue. It got a bit long so I split it in half and posted the first part. I'll put up the second part next Saturday. And I am slowly finishing the next chapter of Attached, I hate how long its been taking me recently with this story but I don’t have as much time to work on it as I used to, so delays are unavoidable. Sorry.

Oops, completely forgot about updating my news. Let’s see what happened since last time. I finished posting all chapters of Soul Mates. Thanks for all your positive feed back on it. I posted chapter 12 of Attached after a very long break. I’ll try not to take that long in the future, sorry about that. I wrote and posted Metroid: Tech Discussion all in one weekend, a story about Chozo technology. Also I’m going to rearrange this page and only keep four news items and move the rest to the end of the page.

Posted the first chapter of Soul Mates today. It’s a story inspired by the fanfilm Haloid. You should watch it, its good. I’m hard at work on both Attached chapter 12 and One Girl... chapter 2 and both are nearing completion. Finally I’m still in the market for another beta reader, email me if you’re interested.

I just posted a Metroid fic called One Girl... A story about Samus’ past. This one just seemed to write itself I polished off the first chapter in a week and a half. I am sad to say that I am once again in need of a beta reader.Lady Harkinian had been helping me out for a while and was doing a wonderful job, but she seems to have vanished off the face of the earth. I hope she comes back but in the interim I will be looking for someone else to fill her shoes. I’ve been hard at work writing the final 4 chapters of attached, though they are turning out so long I may have to split a few in to two chapters each. My apologies to all of those waiting, but I’d rather it take long and get done right, than be rushed and come out wrong.

Chapter 11 of Attached is now posted. As I said last this will be the last one for at least a while. I’m still working on A Girl Like Me, progress has slowed a bit with my attention divided amongst other things. Currently I’m also debating what my next project will be. I was thinking of starting One Girl... though I’m in need of a break from Metroid so maybe a Final Fantasy one shot in the interim.

Attached Ch 10 ended in another cliffhanger, sorry about, last one I promise. A Girl Like Me is coming along nicely, though I’m having to divide my time and energy between it and Attached. Chapter 11 I’m sorry to say will be the last for a while, at least while sort out and organize the flow of the following chapters. Things I write now will affect later chapters so I’m going to write them all up to the end before I post Ch 12.

Attached Ch 9 was posted a few days ago, I also started writing new chapters for it after a long break of writing other stories. And I finally got My Precious Jewel beta read and have just put it up, all thanks to Lady Harkinian.

Attached Ch 8 is now up. Began working on A Girl Like Me, a Metroid Halo crossover, a few weeks ago and am pleased with how its turning out so far. This one just seems to flow, its not fighting me like most of my stories do. I revamped my future projects section on this page; it’s more organized and informative now.

I need someone with excellent grammar and spelling as mine can be atrocious at times. But really what I’m looking for is someone to bounce ideas off of; discuss plot direction, scenes, dialog and characters personalities and so on. My Precious Jewel has been sent off to my beta reader. In the mean time I knocked off one of the items on my future projects list. I ended up writing two kind of short stories,Reunion and Saying Goodbye based of the idea of Cloud morning Aeris’ death.

Chapter 6 of Attached will be up with in the next week. Actually as of now I have up to Ch10 written completely. Though I’m re-rereading, going over each with a fine tooth comb making sure everything is to my liking. So I’ll be releasing them slowly. I am also currently working on a Legend of Mana one-shot.
