The crew of Hammersley, now with a new coxswain is out again on patrol. After two weeks out at sea, the routine patrol turns into a real adventure. A big storm hits the northern part of Queensland and the Hammersley helps out in the aftermath. While the crew is out helping trapped boaters, CO Mike Flynn coordinates a combined search from the Navy and the local FD. It ends badly.

Whilst fighting against the unknown a forbidden attraction flairs that threatens to sink them all. He feels a connection to her that helps him fight through the weight and darkness that tries to consume him but it also impacts on his decisions and all of the values he holds dear.

Harvey and Donna keep a precious secret. An unfortunate twist of fate will shed light on it, forcing them to assume their responsibilities. A little bit of angst, heaps of fun and romance.

Story takes place at the end of the S3 finale. i changed the outcome of the fire at the pumping station, made it more romantic for all M/K lers out there and I also changed the plot of the first S4 episode, as well as its ending. You like to know how? Read and find out. Enjoy!

Some of the personal/emotional scenes in the finale were to short and there was such a big gap between where we were left, and MK married and expecting their first child. This fic extends a couple of scenes from the finale that I wish were longer and takes a quick trip past the finale to see what would have happened. MK with a few chunks of Dutchy. I took Kate's comment "It's complicated"- in regard to Castle- as a personal challenge and decided to uncomplicate things. I apologize for the terrible pun, but it amused me. Also, I've rewritten several parts beginning in chapter five.

Kate started getting Texts and Emails from Castle. She ends up in the Hamptons and they think it will be just them, but in pops Martha. With Martha comes a party and a couple odd events.

A night that they'd both brushed aside and tried to forget comes back to haunt them. Kate/Mike.

Castle suffers an injury while enjoying some off-duty time with Beckett, and she forces him to stop shadowing her. Meanwhile, Rick considers stopping work on his Nikki Heat novels, and some of the other characters start to explore their own love lives.
