Mika assumed she was destined for a quiet, normal life in Bucharest. She had her friends, her job, and occasional hobbies. But when her new neighbor with a metal arm saves her from a would-be assailant, she starts down a path that she didn't quite anticipate...and she doesn't do well with things she can't anticipate.

(Post Civil War-AU Infinity War Timeline). Bucky has been healed, HYDRA removed from his brain. Staying at the Avenger's facility he is discovering that getting back out into the world, learning to be is own man again, is difficult. A chance assignment introduces him to someone that shows him there is life and love, if he will only open himself up to it.

Take one amnesiac ex-assassin, America's Greatest Hero, and one over-worked counselor who's just trying to bring these old guys into the 21st Century. Place in one New York apartment. Allow for down time from saving the world. Blend well. Allow to cool. Season with humor, fluff and h/c to taste.

A Bucky Barnes Story: The first time was an accident. The second time was coincidence. The third time is just unlucky. Bucky Barnes, formerly known as the Winter Soldier, had intended to be invisible in Bucharest - to eke out a lonely existence in his small apartment and busy himself with honest work down in the industrial area. Set right after Captain America: Civil War. Steve gets a good look at Bucky and tries to process what has happened to him.

Post Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Bucky, hiding from Steve, finds refuge in a diner in the mid-west.

AU. After being arrested in Bucharest, Bucky is committed to an "American psych facility" for treatment and to determine how dangerous he is. No romance, no major ships, it's not that kind of story. There may be a tiny WinterWidow canoe. Strong T for language and dark themes.

Post-TWS. Bucky turns himself in to what was once SHIELD to get the help he needs in shedding the Winter Soldier identity and finding the answers he's looking for. With the help of a desk agent, he confronts his past to have a shot at rediscovering himself while experiencing peace in a world full of chaos. He helps her to overcome her own demons and regain what she's lost. Bucky/OC
