A 'sequel' fic to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I had so much fun with my last BotW fic that I decided to continue it. This fic takes place after the events/end credits of Breath of the Wild and explores the rebirth of Hyrule, Zelda and Link's relationship, and more! Just because Calamity Ganon has been defeated doesn't mean Hyrule is out of the woods yet!

Zelda is terrified to apologize to Link for the ways shes treated him, convinced that he must loathe her, despite the fact that he saved her from the Yiga Clan two weeks prior. However, when her mysterious knight begins leaving every morning for some odd winter ritual, her curiosity gets the best of her, and she follows him. What she finds is horribly... innocent, and encouraging.

"More than a century ago, before the Calamity, was an escaped prisoner, a boy with a secret he would not tell, a king with a grave mission, a wise young woman of silver hair, a traitor, and a father whose heart was torn between son and duty… This, my children, is a tale of that boy before he became the hero."

After saving Hyrule from demise, Link believes that he has fallen for the elegant Princess Zelda. All is at peace, but can Link rescue Zelda from her simple life and bring her a life of adventure? And what will others think of a romance between a commoner and a princess? Sometimes, the storm is not quite over.

Link had disposed of Demise. He was sore and limped a little when he returned to his era. But there, burning through the eyes of his beloved friend, he found the gaze of a stranger. Once the stress had faded away, he asked for explanations. As her grace slowly melted his defenses, he found himself learning more about the meaning of trust. Zelda believes that princesses don't socialize with peasants and princesses know what's right and wrong and what the rules should be in society. She believes that the world is as simple as she sees it. Of course Zelda wasn't planning on being unwillingly drawn into a massive conspiracy that crumbles her entire world down. They're so similar when he thinks about it, each put on a path and a pedestal in fulfilling the expectations of their families. He doesn't blame her for her frustration, those times he's left with the consequences or in stifling silence. Link is a new student at Hyrule High, a private high school for gifted students. In this AU Link will have to contend with the school bully Groose, Zelda and her tough group project, rigorous classes led by teachers like Impa and Eagus, an unsettling assistant dean Ganon. Can the Hero of Time solve the mystery of the ancient Sheikah technology and still survive high school?

When the fate of the world rests on your shoulders, all you can do is breathe. Just breathe and let it all out with me. I'll always be here for you. (Pre Calamity)[This is to flesh out and give a bit more story and connection between the subjects the memories touch on.]

After 100 years, Calamity Gannon has finally been vanquished. In the wake of his defeat, Zelda and Link find themselves facing a Hyrule that needs rebuilding. Zelda questions her role in the new world and is forced to take a good look at the source of her power, her love for her appointed knight.
