After his battle with Brooklyn an employee finds Kai unconscious in the hallway and calls an ambulance to take him to the hospital. On the way there a car crashes into the ambulance. So while Tyson is taking on BEGA, he's oblivious to the fact that meanwhile Kai is fighting an entirely different battle: he is fighting for nothing less than his life! (TyKa)

AU, set during season 1 of the series. Hillary joins the team at the start when it is formed, and this changes the timeline completely. Kai finds himself increasingly frustrated having to look after 5 rookies, but at the same time the new girl has definitely gotten his attention.
