As a child growing up in South Korea, Tae Yun Kim , faced significant discrimination on the basis of her gender. When she began training in martial arts, however, Tae Yun Kim found that the practice increased her confidence and discipline, and helped her to achieve the goals that she set for herself. For that reason, Tae Yun Kim , strongly believes that training in the martial arts can be extremely beneficial for girls and women.
