James Potter went five years at Hogwarts without realizing Lily had a little sister. Hermione would have preferred if he never realized she existed. Now she's stuck, in Potter's circle of awareness, and maintaining the timeline. Not like he makes it easy, or something.

Post-OOTP. The episode in the DOM has left Harry a changed boy. He returns to the Dursley's to prepare for his inevitable confrontation with Voldemort, but his stay there is very short-lived. He finds himself in the care of people who he has no choice but to cooperate with and they give him a startling revelation: Harry must travel back to the 1970's to save the wizarding world.

Sent back in time to the Marauders era, Hermione must go to school with people she only knows as being dead, her Hogwarts Professors, and an Azkaban Escapee. Stuck in the 70s living a life where she is falling in love with a Marauder, Hermione will do anything to keep the friends she's made from the fate she knows will befall them without her interference.

Snape, in an attempt to save Lily, created a potion that kept James and Lily alive when hit with the killing curse, but put them into a coma. When they wake up seven years later, they find themselves on a journey to fix what went wrong: to free Sirius from Azkaban, help Remus learn to live again, rescue their son from the Dursley's, and take on the world together, as a family.
