![]() Author has written 1 story for Across the Universe. Haha, if you couldn't tell by my pen name, my name is Sofia:) Hmm, what else? Well, I love to read and write. Everyone on here does, right? I come from a VERY Swedish family, (yes, VERY) but I was born and raised in the USA! Music is pretty much my favorite thing in the world. But not crappy stuff! The mid-70's are pretty much it for me... but there was some good stuff after that, I guess. The 60's were the greatest era I think. The hippies knew what was going on. Peace, love and music. That sums up my world. 15 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT SOFIA: 1.) My favorite artists are (not necessarily in this order)- Jefferson Airplane, Grace Slick, Janis Joplin, The Who, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, The Doors, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry and soooo many more. 2.) The Beatles. This deserves a category all it's own:) And seriously guys, they aren't my favorite just because of all the Beatlemania shit. They were genuinely talented artists who CHANGED THE WORLD. What's not to love? 3.) I'm a vegetarian. Haha, I tried to be a vegan once but failed. MISERABLY. 4.) I'm actually Christian, but people are surprised when I tell them this because I'm also very spiritual. 5.) My name isn't really Sofia, its Viveka Linnea Sofia Dagmar Lorraine, (named after a LOT of relatives, most of whom I've never met) but yeah, that's a mouthful, so I just go by Sofia. My Mormor (grandmother) calls me Vivi, and Viveka when she's mad though. HER name is simply Linnea Viola. Simple, right? 6.) I don't believe in war. 7.) The Lord of the Rings series are my favorite books. 8.) I'm an abstract artist. Haha, I've tried to draw something realistic looking once and it didn't work. 9.) If I look at something long enough it starts to turn different colors. Needless to say, I love looking at things:) 10.) I live on the water. It's gorgeous and I love swimming! 11.) I've been doing ballet since I was six. I just quit recently, but still practice sometimes so I don't become lazy. (Errr, yeah, I'm failing.) 12.) It's my dream to win the Nobel Peace Prize. Hopefully for peaceful demonstration or something like that. 13.) The Hangover, Stand By Me, Whip It, A Hard Days Night and Help! are among my favorite movies. 14.) I have really long hair. It's blonde and I have blue eyes. I really want to dye it pink, purple and black but my ma won't let me:( 15.) When I get angry or sad my eyes turn different shades of blue. Darker when angry and lighter when sad. FAVORITE BEATLES STUFF: Who's your favorite Beatle? I love them all, but I have a soft spot for George! A lot of my favorite songs are the ones he wrote and he was very into peace and equal rights. (They all were, but he spoke of it the most. Besides John, but that was after Yoko.) Favorite song(s) and why? Oh, boy. Get ready for a list. (Not necessarily in order.) 1.) She's Leaving Home- I love John's voice in the chorus. It has so much emotion. 2.) I Need You- this song is so early-George it makes me want to scream. His voice gives me CHILLS. 3.) Within You Without You- this song is so late-George it makes me want to scream. 4.) You've Got to Hide Your Love Away- I love John's voice in it. He was trying to capture Bob Dylan a little and he did a good job, while adding his own element. 5.) Help!- it has such MEANING to it. And yet it's happy at the same time:) 6.) Dear Prudence- I'll be honest with you, I didn't start liking the Beatles (and good music in general) until sixth grade. I was a hopeless pop fan. But I heard this song in Across the Universe and fell in love with the Beatles for writing such beautiful lyrics on the spot. 7.) Something- Frank Sinatra was right (even though I don't like his cover). This was the greatest love song of the 20th century. 8.) The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill- I love the lyrics. To me, they've always been an anti-war anthem, but I guess it was really just mocking an All-American tiger hunter. 9.) Rocky Raccoon- I can picture a beautiful, sad story going on in my head. Did you know Donovan helped a bit with it? I love him too. 10.) Eleanor Rigby- this song holds so much meaning for me. I wanted to cry the first time I heard it. 11.) Across the Universe- it's so simple and poetic. Go, John. 12.) Helter Skelter- this song makes me want to jump up and dance! 13.) I Saw Her Standing There- I love how early this song is:) 14.) I Will- in my opinion, Paul's best love song. And that's really saying something, isn't it? I loved Linda. I really did. 15.) Hey Jude- you gotta have that one, don't you? Beautiful melody, beautiful lyrics, beautiful inspiration. 16.) I've Got A Feeling- I don't know why, but I really love John's part Everybody Had A Good Year. It was originally a separate song, and I love how REAL and UPLIFTING it is. Favorite Album? Well, I recognize Sgt. Pepper as being the most ambitious and the most mind-boggling. It amazes me everytime I hear it. But my favorite would have to be Abbey Road, because not only did they mesh together really well, but it almost feels like them returning to their roots. It's simple, beautiful and there are some amazing songs on it. After the ambition of Sgt. Pepper and the many songs of the White Album, they just came back to their roots. Mehhh, I don't wanna type anymore but... I LOVE YOU!!! Maybe Later I'll add some favorite quotes or something... |
