Post-Season 8 finale. Castiel is afraid of sleeping and tries to fight it as long as he can. Destiel because that's what my life has become.

Castiel's scars from losing his wings have always bothered him. Dean never makes it a point to pity people, but he can't help but pity the fallen angel. "Well, if it isn't the broken man and his guardian angel." There are many things that confuse Castiel. This particular phrase irritates him more than others. He doesn't know what it means or why people say it, but he's going to find out. Tiny bit of Dean/Cas if you squint and tilt your head.

One of the first things Castiel noticed once he had fallen was how light he felt. And he hated it. His wings were gone. Stripped from him and he was grounded. So Cas did the only thing he could after his siblings stopped falling from the sky. He started walking. Forced himself to not focus on the lack of weight at his back. How he couldn't stretch his wings or tuck them close.

Dean receives a call from Cas four days after the angels fall from heaven. Leaving Sam behind, Dean rushes to find the former angel. My first Destiel oneshot; I'm sorry for the shitty quality.

And he kind of liked that.

Dean finds Cas after the fall.

"I'm always so cold. How do you stand it? When I was…myself, I never noticed temperature. It's different now, but you're still so much warmer than me. I feel like ice...always frozen." After Sacrifice (8.23), I pretty much couldn't stand not having something after that ending and so needed some kind of closure. This is what came of that. Cas shows up at the bunker and explains to Dean what happened, Dean steps up as well telling Cas some of his feelings. Spoilers of Season 8 finale.
