Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter.
Main information:
Well, hello. I'm currently 16 years old and I live and study in Singapore. This account is a fresh start for my 3-4 year long hiatus since around 2007 and a brief comeback in 2008. Hopefully, I'll make better progress with my writing skills this time round. You can check my Deviantart at [link] where I draw some fanart (mostly on Vocaloid).
Fandoms:
My fanfictions, or would-be fanfictions, would predominantly come from the two fandoms Prince of Tennis and Harry Potter, since these two are the only two fandoms I'm well-versed enough to write a properly fluent fanfiction, though I am impartial to other minor fandoms like Detective Conan and D.Gray-Man, though I've been straying a tad too far from current happenings within the fandom, so those are more of the fandoms I read than I write.
Genres:
My favourite genres would be Adventure and Humor, preferably together, though I do enjoy some serious fanfictions more than I enjoy light-hearted ones. Personally I don't like Romance in any story, for example, I don't like super!Harry fanfics with any pairings (unless side). Romance is so distracting from the whole kill-Voldie business, I'll prefer him single. Another genre-blend would be Horror-Humor. I've read a couple of fanfics with that genre-blend and I feel that it has the potential to be an awesome genre. I like some Mystery and Angst once in a while, but they're not high on my list.
Pairings:
Over the years, I think I've developed some dislike for any pairings at all in any Harry Potter fanfiction, particularly HH and HG, and any pairing with Ginny inside. To me, she's still the whiney and infuriating fangirl and that image has stuck. Also, any pairings with Hermione pairing unless very well-written. I don't hate yaoi/BL, but I prefer not to read it unless it appears to be very well-written and highly recommended.
Plot types:
For Harry Potter, I really enjoyed super!Harry/independent!Harry stories for a long while, before realising that they are essentially the same and the character and skill development of Harry is just too creepy for me to accept. I still like them, but not as much as before. Currently reading more of the Harry-with-a-social-life stories which are also quite interesting but turning generic. For interesting twists, I like Dumbledore-who-seems-manipulative-but-actually-isn't, and more original time/universe-leap stories. I don't really like Marauder-era stories and future!fics, and 1st year Harry speaking like a 50 year old man aka. over-mature fanfics. I suppose this really narrows my reading range. I do like Dark!Harry fanfics (where he doesn't go light halfway) but there is a severe shortage of this. Either that or I can't find any. I feel like writing one of those sometime. Besides these plot types, I also love ingenius-coincidences stories. Especially if they are really ingenious. I respect stories with a lot of planning and research done beforehand, but it gets annoying when everything is too rigid.
Reading preferences:
I don't read anything less than 20k words and 500 reviews, though I usually stick with 1k reviews as a norm. 500 reviews are for interesting summaries, and I have been pleasantly surprised more than once for those. Usually I read independent!Harry fanfics. I like manipulative!Dumbledore too, though it is getting quite boring and I've taken a liking for awesome!Dumbledore recently. I also like Ron, Ginny and Hermione bashing, and as far as I'm concerned, Hermione isn't bashed enough. Just because she can read and is rather smart doesn' mean she knows every damn thing. She is a Muggleborn, after all. I hate fanfics with Hermione-or-anyone-else-is-actually-some-pureblood because its just illogical. And usually Hermione/said character turns out Sue-ish and dates Malfoy which makes it even more infuriating. Preferably no pairings, but I can handle side pairings of perhaps Neville-Luna, among a few others. Also currently I'm on a Severitus frenzy, so that would be my main reading preference for a while.
Writing styles:
I don't think I've written enough to determine a writing style as of now, but from my previous account and other unposted drabbles, I would appear to be a crackfic writer with no real substance, and an amateur romance writer. I'm also an impatient person, so new ideas die on me very easily. I used to write a long-ish chapter fic, but it died on me after a few weeks. Now, I have a better grasp on character development and avoiding cliches, but I'm nearly always out of ideas (As compared to before when I have so many plans but so little patience) so it is rather infuriating. I think I can write drabbles better, just developing a bit on a small plot point and coming up with ideas, than coming up with a whole new believable and sustainable plot, but I hope all these will change. Dying to add a nice story or two to the collections out there~
