Hello, old friends

Anyone who remembers me will probably recognize me as 'Crimson Daybreak'--however, you'll notice that I have changed my penname and am now acknowledging my actual name: Cathamaria = Catherine Mary. It's been a good many years since I've visited this site, no less been an active member, as my schooling and social affairs have taken the greater portion of my time away from writing. I've also as of late grown fond of poetry. (You should have seen the look on my face when I stumbled back onto this site and was reminded of my once-upon-a-time prose-writing!) This site calls me back, because I have so many unfinished stories, and I have missed your company!

The good news is, I've returned, hoping to devote more time to writing, because writing is what I was born to do.

But to catch up on the last few years of absence: I've nearly finished another segment of my seemingly endless path of education. In the past four years, I've become a dedicated, passionate English student (it will still be a while before I can claim the word "scholar")--my love of writing has grown from what was once purely fanfiction into the realms of poetry, essay writing, and literary criticism (T.S. Elliot and Northrop Frye are my heroes!). English is my world, but right now, I am preparing to relocate, to another part of Ontario and to another school, to take up studies--for another four years!--in the Sciences, Psychology, and Cognition. Perhaps that is another reason for my return here--I cannot bear to part with my love of English, however I do not yet feel I am ready to face the world of publishing. So here I will remain while I science-up my life and pretend to still be an English student.

The stories I have already published will be revamped for style and grammar, and some will be removed...if necessary. And then... I will put my newly-acquired writing skills to the test!

It will be wonderful to hear from everyone again!
