In fall of 2009 my husband, toddler twins and I moved out to Humboldt County, California, to be near the grandparents. I'm working part-time at a local history museum, have another part-time gig as a tour guide on the "Old Town Haunted History Ghost Tour," am involved with North Coast Repertory Theatre community theater and the "Grave Matters and Untimely Departures" Fortuna Cemetery District annual fundraising cemetery tour, and of course am being continually stunned with how remarkable and amazing kids can be (particularly when they're one's own kids!). Previous jobs were 3 years as Director/Curator at the Fairbanks House historic house museum(built circa 1641, the oldest standing timber-framed building in North America), two years working on the Historic Jamestowne project in Virginia and three years (for my sins) as Director of a local history museum in a small town in Wyoming. I grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, did my undergrad work at UCLA, and spent four years at the University of York in England, where I got my MA and D.Phil in Medieval Studies. There I met Monika Simon, Kirsty Hartsiotis and Michael Gaunt. The four of us formed the "Star Wars Literary Guild;" we three women wrote Star Wars fan novels, Michael gave advice and critiques, and we spent countless hours in the pub(s), talking about Anakin and Palpatine's drinking sessions, Luke's love life, and Han Solo's bathrobe. Strangely, people were afraid to sit near us in the pub. Michael and I have since married, with Kirsty and Monika as our witnesses. I have a terrible inability to accept the deaths of characters that I like, and so end up writing vast amounts of prose to bring them back to life.

I should, of course, spend any writing time I manage to squeeze out from the demands of real life, working on my various novels that I might actually have a chance at getting published. But fanfiction still keeps pushing its way back into my life. "Boromir's Return" took an amazing 9 years to complete. Now it's the turn of Dark Shadows fanfiction to take up too much of my time, as I work on what I believe to be the first-ever Bill Malloy fan novel (I thought it would be a novella at first, but I should have known better!). Bill has recently been joined by Gerard Stiles as a DS character demanding my attention; my planned 1840 fan novel may just be the first DS fanfic work to feature Gerard as its hero (or at least its anti-hero). Here and there I've also taken a dive into Iliad fan fiction and other bits and bobs. Thank you to all who read and review, and I hope you enjoy where some of these explorations take you.
