![]() Hello there, and welcome to my profile page. I'm not terribly interesting but I am known for rambling, so I'll try to work against both those factors and just give you the most factual, non-lengthy description of myself I can. My name is Nicole, but I go by Nik a lot of the time. I'm 16 years old, my birthday is May 30th, and I want to one day be a writer. I enjoy writing and find it to be one of the things that makes me truly happy even if I'm writing something depressing. To me all genres are equal and every story, even if I don't like it, has a place. It's someone's favorite somewhere out there, so I don't leave flames on anything - even things I don't like I may review and applaud for being a well executed idea. In my opinion no more negativity is needed in any fandom. I would rather not contribute to any flame wars, shipping debates or anything along those lines. As I get going people may notice I ship some very weird pairings. I understand fully you may not agree with those pairings. And that's okay. I'm not going to do that snooty thing of saying 'flames will be used to make toast', I'm not going to argue with you that my OTP is the best idea ever, because it's only the best idea ever to me. It appeals to me. Not you. You have a right as a human being to like and dislike whatever you want. My only request is that you try to conduct yourself in a mature manner. Other people who are less inclined to politeness than I am are watching, and in this internet age it's easy to embarrass yourself and hard to live anything down. I am a fan of many fandoms, but will probably not write for all of them. There are not enough hours in the day. Suffice to say if I write fic for it, I like it. Although I do have very strong religious and political beliefs, I will do everything I can to keep from letting this into my writing. Though an ideological conflict is fascinating, it is also hard to write without slamming one side of the debate due to author bias, which I don't really have a right to do. It's not a place I want to go in my writing, although it might happen regardless. This is why I'm open to PMs and critiques. Give me constructive criticism. Don't even be nice about it. Pull no punches, lay it out in the most direct way possible. I will never grow as an author if all I get is encouragement. People need criticism in order to change and become better people. It's that simple. It's as necessary as air. So that concludes my profile. I didn't do the popular quotes or pairings rundown because it would've made this incredibly long. I hope you enjoy my stories and I sincerely wish all of you good luck in your own writing endeavors. |
