I got into writing fanfiction in 2002-2003 during my first year of high school. It’s something I do for fun and to blow off steam. I find it’s a great way to calm down or work through any negative stuff that I’m going through, especially if I’m angry or upset. Besides, who hasn’t seen something they want to change or something they looked at and thought ‘Hey I can do that better’. I got into it seriously when one of my friends introduced me to fanfiction.net. My first story was Together We Can for Power Rangers. It’s only available on my website because frankly, I think it sucks but I use it to remind me that everything can improve. After that I moved into fandoms like Mutant X, Stargate SG-1 and more recently Criminal Minds.

If I had to give anyone advice about writing fanfiction it would be: know what you are writing about. Keep the timelines as straight as possible; nothing can detract more from a story then mixed up pasts.
