Favourite quotes: Thou shouldst eat to live; not live to eat. It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies, but even more to stand up to your friends. Evil brings men together. It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities. It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be. Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer. If you want to see the true measure of a man, watch how he treats his inferiors, not his equals. Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. The truth is a beautiful and terrible thing, and therefore should be treated with caution. It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live. The soul of man is immortal and imperishable. People find it far easier to forgive others for being wrong than being right. I came, I saw, I conquered. Age is foolish and forgetful when it underestimates youth. We loved with a love that was more than love. We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light. It is the unknown we fear when we look upon death and darkness, nothing more. Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle. Millions long for immortality who don't know what to do with themselves on a rainy Sunday afternoon. No one can confidently say that he will still be living tomorrow. A man who won't die for something is not fit to live. Death is no more than passing from one room into another. But there's a difference for me, you know. Because in that other room I shall be able to see. It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it. Only the dead have seen the end of the war. Favourite stories not on ff.net: Draco: Phoenix Rising by Cheryl Dyson - |
