Sometimes, Dick feels like a zombie. Like he's the walking dead. Like nothing will ever be good again. Sometimes, he takes too much weight onto his shoulders, and he never puts it down. There's a point where he crumbles to dust underneath all that weight, and there's nothing for him to do but ride the breakdown and wait until he can bear the weight and start the whole process over.

Tim wishes that he'd realized Dick was so stressed out sooner. Maybe he could have helped more.

Doctor Leslie Tompkins writes her thoughts on a scrap of paper the morning after she failed to save Dick Grayson's life. Her heartbreak and fears as a doctor are inspired by conversations I had with real surgeons and what they saw. I hope I have done them justice (despite using fictional characters). I guess you'll just have to read it and find out.
