Author has written 3 stories for Mass Effect, Metroid, and Kill la Kill/ キルラキル. Well I finally decided to put down a bio just because...My name is Robert Highsmith, and I'm going to explain my writing... Firstly my main story is Mass Effect: Echoes of War (or MEEoW [I know it comes across like an angry cat and IDC). It is my attempt at a fusion universe that puts all the things I find entertaining in a similar plane of existence. I started it with just regular Mass Effect with a OC of a 2nd Shepard in a sense thrown into the mix, which leads into Metroid Prime 2 Echoes, then Skyrim, Gears 3, Dark Souls, and ending it with Prototype. Then I get into ME2 with all the DLC's, and finally just before ME3 I am contemplating a Lost Planet 2 crossover to make the entirety of ME3 a complete shishstorm that ends in a big bang and possibly leads into more crossovers later. Next onto what kind of stories I like, Firstly, I love a well written crossover, more so for the logic in the crossover rather than the actual plot. I'd be willing to read the most clichéd story in the world if the world is connected realistically, fusing the two or more worlds separate laws excellently and the new world fits the laws of the two to a T. The worst kind of Xover for me is when a MC of one story is just poofed to the other world for no apparent reason, I mean like there is no prevalent Dimensional travel or powers at be that allow for such a thing to happen (like a Halo/ME crossover where Chief or Shep ending up in the others plane because of a ship or mass relay blowing up or malfunctioning). Unless the plot is passable or unique this kind of Xover is killed to me by this. I don't read many non-Xovers mainly because there aren't many things left to tell in something I like and watching a retelling of something like ME or Skyrim can be dull unless an OC is thrown in to change something. Once again, a compelling story can still get me to read it, but I prefer the former. Anyway, I hope everyone likes my works and if not at least try out some of the ones I've favorite-d, if only because they are actually nice stories. |
