Since I apparently managed to let my last profile become six years out of date (there's a depressing thought, alright), I'm going to keep this one simple. I'm a twenty-something girl, currently stuck in scientific academia and attempting to salvage enough time from that to continue the preoccupation with various fandoms and the strange obsession with words that combine to produce fanfic. At various times I've been more or less active in The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean and Harry Potter fandoms, but I enjoy stories from plenty of others (NCIS, Dr Who, Numb3rs, Vorkosiverse...) that don't necessarily inspire me to write. Where there's both a book and a film canon, I'll go with the book pretty much every time; I also tend to stick with canon ships since they (generally) make the most sense to me. And...I think that's it.
