I’m a multitasker, the kind of person that always has to be doing something. I look younger than I really am, and though right now I find it annoying that people treat me like a kid because I still look like one, everyone tells me I’ll appreciate it when I’m older. Looking younger I mean, not being treated like a kid. I’m a pessimist. My butt’s too fat and my waist’s too small to fit into any of the jeans I want to buy. I’m short and petite. Sometimes that annoys me and sometimes I’m not even aware of it. It’s almost scary how skinny I am even though I eat nothing but junk, most of the time. I don’t eat a lot of fast food though, so maybe that’s why. I don’t eat breakfast; just the idea of food in the morning makes me nauseous. Though bagels, fried potatoes, and cheese grits pass. My summer job has me working the night shift though so my internal clock is all out whack, so lately I’ve been eating more in the mornings. I like to snack on corn flakes, but without milk, I hate milk. And ham, and mint. I used to drink milk all the time when I was a kid, and eat cereal too, but now I don’t like it. Strange, I liked grits as a kid and like them now too. I really like to write but I’ve never finished any of the stories I’ve started! I think I need to find the writing process that’s best for me before I’ll ever finish something. I usually need someone else, like a teacher, to give me deadlines before I seriously write at a steady pace. I’m not very good at writing normal profiles of myself. Interests/Hobbies: pirates, ghosts, fairy tales, mythology, reading, writing, drawing, collecting soundtracks, anime, manga, video games, Japanese language and culture (Nihongo ga suki desu yo!), movies, cowboys Stories in Progress: Memoriam: A Ghost Story Memoriam was born during 12th grade in high school, that would be, 2004? Anyway, it was originally conceived as an idea for a writing scholarship. I didn’t finish it in time to turn in for the scholarship, but I got the idea started and did research and plot outlines. I wrote the first chapter during my senior year of high school or that summer. I might have written the second chapter that summer as well. I think I wrote half of the third chapter in the summer after my freshman year of college. And I finished that chapter this summer. So as you can see, I’m pretty slow at updating Memoriam. But the chapters are anormous, and it’s not easy for me to write serious drama. I’m really very silly. But Memoriam is the “enfant de mon coeur” and though I may set it aside every once in awhile I’ll always pick it back up again because too much of myself is already in it. And it’s just waiting to be written, I’ve got everything outlined, and you wouldn’t believe the amount of research I have piled up. Victorian houses, Victorian clothing, books on ghosts, and lots of research on Savannah, Georgia. I’ve only been to Savannah once, but I was really inspired so I wanted to set Memoriam in it. But since I’m not familiar with the town I thought it would be safer to set it in an imaginary town based on Savannah, that way people familiar with it wouldn’t get upset, and I could included details that would fit the plot, but might not exist in Savannah. I’ve also made timelines, character profiles, and even family trees. Whether it takes me five or fifty more years to finish Memoriam, it will be finished! When I do set it aside at least I can comfort myself with the thought that with every other project I work on I’m learning something new to bring back to make Memoriam even better. Le, sigh. I’m so long winded! Status: 3 chapters, one teaser posted on Fictionpress Updates: Very sporadic! Incomplete Stories: Project Cyrano Melanie is an unhappy college student. One day while procrastinating on her math homework in the library, Cyrano De Bergerac pops out of Edmund Rostand’s play. What trouble will erupt when the romantic swordsman sticks his long nose into Melanie’s life? (Written for an English class. I don’t even remember what the assignment was.) Status: 30 pgs (play format) Updates: I might post this if anyone’s interested, (if I did post this would it be on Fanfiction.net or Fictionpress) but otherwise this one will stay as it is, incomplete. Joss and Cody The year is 1873, the place, Idaho territory. Joss Green and Cody Harlen are partners who work odd jobs together in and around the Wild West town of Wildroot. They’ve had their share of trouble, yet they always come through it together. But now the secret’s out, one of them is really a girl in disguise! Will their partnership be strong enough to survive this? (I hate writing summaries. But I really love Joss and Cody, it was written for my screenwriting class, and I had a blast doing it. But once school was out I hit a writer’s block. I did know where I wanted the story to go, but now I’ve changed my mind and I’m not quite sure where to take it. So for now it’s set aside while I work on other things.) Status: 34 pgs (screenplay format) Updates: On hiatus for now. I might eventually try writing a novel form of it, which might also help clear up that pesky writer’s block. Or maybe once school starts I’ll feel inspired again. And maybe my professor will kick me back into gear. Other than the first draft, or the novel version, if I ever write it, this one’s not going to be posted. Story Ideas: Alice Grim Alice Liddell is a shy and ordinary girl who lives with her overprotective mother in a cottage at the edge of the woods. On the way to visit her grandmother, who’s a witch, and lives in a house in the woods, she falls into a well that takes her to another world. On her quest to find her way back home she teams up with the Cursed Cat, a talking black cat in a pair of boots, and a wolf cursed into human shape. They travel the world meeting characters from fairytales and legends, while trying to unravel the mystery of Alice Grim, the evil that threatens everyone in the world within the well. |
