Callie Torres and Arizona Robbins didn't exactly have the best friendship. In fact, despite being neighbors, there wasn't really a friendship between the two of them at all. But it was kind of difficult to dislike someone you were stuck driving across the country with. Two girls. Two weeks. Eleven states. One road trip. A lot can happen when you're along for the ride.

The separate courses of Callie and Arizona's lives collided as the result of single, unplanned steps. For Arizona, it was in the donation of a book. For Callie, it was being forced to spend the last three dollars in her pocket on a random book in a used bookshop. A book with notes written all over the margins by A. Robbins.

Arizona's friends always told her how life changing summer camps can be. When she visited one by herself, she only realized how much. Falling in love for the first time was not on her to do list for that summer. Especially not with another girl.
