Katniss Everdeen has everything. She is successful, powerful, and wealthy beyond comprehension, but she is also incredibly lonely and lacking any true human connections. Peeta Mellark has nothing. He is dirt poor, barely surviving, and doing the unthinkable to stay alive, but is able to hold onto hope even though there is no reason for it on the street.

Peeta is faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, and can leap tall buildings in a single bound. Katniss has spent the better part of the last 14 years obsessing over a hero that may not exist. When they find themselves investigating a sinister story, they have no idea that it could threaten the very fabric of their city...unless they are both willing heroes.
