This phenominal story is about my beautiful daughter Angela Michelle Lovelace. I am honored and blessed to be able to share with you this unbelievable transformation that has taken place and is still taking place in her life. For most of her life, Angela has struggled in one way or another, due to being born with Downs Syndrome. Then at the age of 15, her struggles increased over the next 5 years, with the added burden of being overweight. She weighed 149 pounds, and is only 4 feet 9 inches tall. I watched her withdraw more and more into herself and become only a shell. No self esteem, no confidence. She had dreams . . . One was to be small like her sister Briana, who was a size 1, and the other was to learn to read. She wanted what every young girl wants. . . to fit in! As her mother, I tried everything to help her. I monitored her food and forced her to exercise, even to the point of literally dragging her. It was a struggle to say the least! We were told to stop stressing, that we were going to have to just accept the fact that, with Downs Syndrome comes the weight. The school system also told us she would never be able to read.
