![]() Author has written 1 story for Rio. Introduction I'm new to this site, obviously. I've been a long-time lurker, reading various people's stories until I finally decided I would make an account and attempt to write a story of my own. I usually write articles and essays on political subjects at several different sites and a blog I use to own; however, politics grows old. So here I am trying out something more abstract! I don't usually watch movies like Rio; nevertheless, I sat down with the fam. one day and was hooked, to say the least. Searched up some stuff on the almighty Google and stumbled upon FF. I plan to write a few 'shorts' before attempting to write a story with chapters, OCs, and such. Additional Notes: Oh, my first story is sort of a test, I just want to see how my writing takes - I appreciate constructive criticism. Always feel welcome to PM me for any reason. I'm excited to be a part of this awesome community, thanks. About Me I'm from upstate California and grew up in Arizona. I currently reside in central Texas for school, Eat 'em Up Cats! I study Economics while pursuing a Business Administration degree. Favorites Foods: All-American Cheeseburgers Books: A Separate Peace, One Bullet Away, Human Action, Count of Monte Cristo, and The Red Badge of Courage Subjects: Finance/Accounting, Austrian Economics, Linguistics (Various Languages), Human Sociology Hobbies: Mountain Biking, Racquetball, Video Editing, Traveling, Blogging, Wounded Warrior Project Interests: Workout regimes, Backpacks, Movie technique critique, Fan Fiction (New) Movies: Bourne Trilogy, Restrepo, Aliens, Rio, Zombieland, Taking Chance, A Few Good Men Musical Genres: Adult Alternative, Alternative Metal, Classic Rock, Nu-Metal, Free-Style Jazz, Underground Rap Bands/Artists: 3 Doors Down, Chevelle, Lenny Kravitz, Bad Company, Miles Davis, Immortal Technique Quotes "They took all the trees, and put em in a tree museum --Counting Crows "Big Yellow Taxi" "Later in the morning, we packed our gear and hiked down to the parade deck. Hulking gray CH-53 Super Stallions, bigger than school buses, waited to ferry us over to TBS. It was my first helicopter ride. We sat on nylon benches along the sides of the cargo bay, and I looked past the tail ramp as the parade deck and our barracks fell away beneath us. Crossing the I-95, I looked down at the cars filled with commuters. Clean people, well-fed, rested, in control of their days. I realized I wouldn't trade places with any of them." --Nathaniel C. Fick "One Bullet Away: The Making of a Marine Officer" "It is not from the benevolence of the butcher, the brewer, or the baker, that we expect our dinner, but from their regard to their own interest. We address ourselves, not to their humanity but to their self-love, and never talk to them of our necessities but of their advantages. Nobody but a beggar chuses [sic] to depend chiefly upon the benevolence of his fellow citizens." --Adam Smith, "The Wealth of Nations, vol. I, p. 16" Note To All: I don't hate many things or people but . . . If you have ever or currently do; Throw glass bottles onto a sidewalk or trail, . . . stop. Glass bottles pop people's bike tires (sometimes their only means of transportation), walking slowly is going to make you late for class, walking on the left side makes you look stupid and will get you run over by my bike, and talking in the library is annoying. Remember, life is hard . . . . . . it's harder if you're stupid. Don't be stupid and most certainly, don't be 'that guy.' Thanks! |
